This loss was on a couple Heupel decisions

He did try to center the ball in the center of the field. I thought that was what Joey was doing when he dove for a couple yards to the center of the field. Run time off and get centered. False start killed that idea and made the kick harder.

The kicker choked. Clearly.
Perhaps, but let's not forget Umarov's contribution to the loss with his false start. That started the debacle. Maybe if he doesn't get flagged, we are at least closer and Heupel doesn't feel he has to kick on third down. Such an opportunity wasted. Some teams make the plays at crunch time and some just don't.

I guarantee you UGA will not sniff 38 points in another conference game this season. Heupel made Kirby’s defense look like a joke. The defense lost the game. Period. They had no business scoring more that 14-17 points
Georgia is not the worst offense in the SEC, and it’s wild you’d say that. They have better odds of scoring 40 in every game than of being the worst in the SEC. Our defense failed at times, but the defense was playing with one hand behind their back.

Heupel had multiple potential turning points during the game where he could have changed things, and he chose the scared choice every time.

Considering the injuries we had on defense before the game even started - no, the defense started shaky but stepped up when needed and did enough to win the game. PI was also not called the same for both teams

I thought after they drove it down our throats to start the 3rd it was over. Banks made some adjustments and thought the D played well enough the rest of the way to give us a chance. Just a couple of yds difference in total yds. The 4th down touchdown I don’t believe a team in the country stops that throw .
The series after the fumble was exactly what you should do. Go up 8 with 6 minutes on clock and make them drive the field. It took a perfect pass on 4th and 6. Blaming the loss on Coach is BS!

It didn’t ruin the idea. He could have done it again. We had seven seconds left with timeouts. He could have done it one more time. He was scared that his team would false start twice in a row, and he chose the fearful decision.

I am literally having a hard time finding a single decision in the game that was a bad coaching decision. There are some plays people would change in hind sight but that is the thing, it is in hind sight. Everything we did from a coaching standpoint was logically.

There might be one exception, the blow coverage on 2-point conversion play. if I had to pick a play that had bad coaching, it might be that play.

He coached scared on multiple occasions. You can’t be a chickenshít against Kirby Smart. The punt at midfield that they drove the field on, and especially the decision not to center the ball on the field goal at the end were scared decisions, and you cannot coach scared against teams like that. There were other issues in the game, but the head coach’s in game decisions cannot be an issue if you are going to beat a powerhouse.
I agree, im shockex in 4 years here hes not learned from his own games but gsmes around the league you can not get consevative. Tiwice this gsme i reslly think cost us win . Drive of fumble recovery and last drive. Our defense did not mich today to inspire putting the gsme on their shoulders

I thought you would reference the decision for three straight conservative runs after the recovered fumble.
Nope, 100% correct call. Eight point leade late in the 4th qtr should have been a lock. That 4th down TD by Georgia was the back breaker. I need to watch what we were doing on defense on that play again.

No it wasn’t. We had a very make able FG and we missed. You have a chance to win that’s all you can ask! Great game but this one hurts!

Every conference* game. Of course, you knew what I meant. I’m still offering the best of Georgia not being the worst offense.

They may not be the worse because Kentucky, Florida, and lsu exist but they’re in the bottom half easily. Vanderbilt has a way better offense just for example lol

Agreed. But to blame our coaches is just dumb. They are the ones that put us in the position to win in the first place

Georgia is going to score what they need to score to win pretty much every game. If it’s 40, they’ll score 40. If it’s 20, they’ll score 20. If you watched that game and came away thinking Georgia’s offense sucks, Idk what to tell you. Stockton showed a lot today.

There was still same amount of time on clock as before false start so run it again.. Except just get Joey under center and hike ball and let Joey take a couple steps to right, kneel in center of field, call t.o. Make kick (from center of field), no time left on clock as winning FG sails through uprights and we are all happy right now.
