Reports are coming in that there are 2 new theories behind the Pilot armed robbery incident.

1) The crime was actually committed by SEC officials. These officials have already been under scrutiny for stealing games from anyone who is playing Alabama or Florida.

2) It was actually an Alabama and Florida player, but Mike Slive intervened and assigned the blame to the innocent Tennessee players. A gag order has been issued to prevent coaches from criticizing the police.

1) This is not Kiffin's fault and it does not reflect negatively on UT. You don't commit a robbery with a gun because of good or bad coaching, lax or stringent discipline, etc. This is on them, pure and simple. Kiffin and UT have nothing to do with it.

2) Having said that, if they did this, they have to be kicked off the team and cannot ever wear your uniform again. This is not debatable. Meyer let that Wilson guy back on our scout team -- he was never going to play again in a game--- and ended up having to kick him off of even that down the road. How Kiffin deals with this is the issue. They have to go. It is not debatable.

3) These things are inevitable. Yes, its more startling these days because the news has gone from players ten years ago not paying for shoes at an athletic store to people pointing guns. But the reality is this kind of thing is going on everywhere and all teams, with 90 guys on it and let's face it some from a pretty tough background, its going to happen to every team. It will fade.

If only that were true. However, rightfully or otherwise, it does reflect negatively on our program, as well as the SEC and college football as a whole. Underaged drinking is one thing, armed robbery is another. The sad fact is, it could happen to most any school, but it couldn't come at a worse time for UT. But I will agree that it too will pass, given time and some other unfortunate occurrence to grab the headlines, hopefully somewhere else.
