Now, Currie has to go where he knows he'll get a yes:

Miles
Kiffin
TMartin

Good for us.

Good for Currie (as he'll claim this was always his plan).

No he doesn't. I'd rather him try 10 more top tier coaches and get a "no" than make a desperation hire for a weak coach. Besides, conference championship games haven't even been played yet and more coaches are going to open up after that.

Arkansas is in the mix for Kiffin. "Kiffin rehabbed his image enough while serving as the offensive coordinator at Alabama to get a head coaching chance. He was a candidate for several Power 5 head jobs last year before going to Florida Atlantic, and if he can have success with the Owls this year, Arkansas may be willing to give him a call. FAU is currently 8-3 and in bowl game position."

About a dozen others i'd throw money at like they were Gundy before i did that. That kind of cheese will get you a good coach.. You just have to throw the bait in front of more than one.

What about Sumlin? He competes for recruits with all the Texas teams and has always been fairly competitive in SEC West. I know he is A&M's leftovers but I think he is a quality coach that could do better here than he did at TAM.

Sad thing is every potential recruit in the nation can see how desperate UT has become to simply find someone to take the job.

Why do so many people want Sumlin so bad? He was the 4th best coach in the SEC West. He's a good coach, but if he couldn't succeed at A&M, he's not going to succeed at Tennessee. I think he'd be a better fit somewhere like Arizona State where he's not competing against Murderer's Row. At Tenn, he's probably losing to Florida, Georgia, and Alabama on a regular basis.

If I could have some reassurance that we aren’t going to offer Kevin Steele, Chad Morris, or Dave Doeren in this search my heart would be just fine. For some odd reason, I keep going back to those names bc they are easy and not practical, exactly what this administration goes after.

Does it not bother you that Gundy was at the top of a list of coaches when we are willing to pay $7 million to hire?

Disagree.

Whomever the new HC is, playing at UT is a thrill.

We'll do fine with recruits once stability is assured.

Sorry ghost. We already look soooo desperate throwing that kind of money at Gundy and now we down right look stupid.

Fire Curries azz immediately and resume the search.

Agreed. This is the first attempts Tennessee has made and the numbers being thrown around are jaw dropping - Top 5 money.

Frankly, it will open up a lot of doors and make a lot more people listen then you might think.

Let's just keep offering the same coaches who turned is down the last couple of times we've had an opening.

Our AD and Haslam are complete morons. Utter embarrassment.

Stay far away from him
