This is what happens when you put a Cincy staff in the SEC

You could support another team if you like.

Probably a dozen people have posted some variation of this. It's not interesting, clever, or smart. My disappointment with signing day and our coaches inability to close top targets has nothing to do with my support of the team.

You are an absolute idiot. Take your cry baby BS attitude and get out of here. He hasn't even had a practice yet and you're ready to toss in the towel. This instant gratification feeling around this fan base is way passed getting old. We are not entitled to anything, and we are going to work our way to the top and fight every step of the way. You don't just walk in mid december and sign a top ten class in 10 weeks. Absolute BS attitude. Fix it or leave the Volnation.

No, I think I'll stay. I've been here for a bit, and I've grown to like it.

Also, nothing you posted is related to anything I posted.

I dont understand all the negative towards BJ when he was hired on the 12th and went through the dead period and then had under 5 weeks to try and sign a class.I dont see no posts blaming Doofey,he put Tn in the shape that it is in right now.He quit recruiting and focused more on that 5 mil buy out.How many wanted to reach through their TV and smack the he11 out of him ? Im not jumping for joy over this class but most people said they would settle for a top 20 class considering that BJ had only a month and a half to recruit. But to set and blame BJ is just stupid.Every bit of this is all Dooleys fault. He sat right on TV and said Bell was Ohio St from day one and thats because he didnt recruit Bell.Dooley is and was a fraud period.Where was Tn ranked before BJ got here 40 something I think ?? not for sure.Instead of blaming Jones ,I think you need to blame precious

Disagree. It's niether ridiculous nor ignorant. Ignorance is a lack of knowledge. I, and several other posters, have given informed and significant reasons for concern.

My opinion may be stupid because it's clearly an emotional reaction, and there are plenty of good reasons to think CBJ will be successful.

But I think it's absolutely worth a thread.

I never failed to support the signees. I think we signed a number of talented, SEC level players, and I posted that elsewhere today. Being upset about missing on all our top targets is not the same.
Knee jerk reaction. Probably stupid. Still, this is a signing day fail. No reason Auburn's staff closes so strong and ours doesn't.
sound's like you don't support anything about this signing class. according to you, it failed. Did it just not meet your expectations? Seems to me that according to everything thats transpired in the last 3 years with the program, butch has done a fairly good job this NSD

No - the class is not the same as signing day. The class has been together for several months. It has lots of talented players in it. CBJ did a good job getting Johnson, Jenkins, and Foreman on board. However, we had lots of needs, particularly on defense. He and the staff targeting a number of players to fill those needs. They whiffed. Auburn's staff didn't. I don't see any problem with being disappointed with how we closed.

to be fair, they're also only 2 years removed from a national championship, and they just hired the man who is half the reason they won it as HC. we are not. give it time.

yea...it sux. But just imagine how great its gonna be beatin bammer and the gators! Always darkest before dawn...we got a good coach and we will win more games this year and see an upswing in recruiting next year when the staff has momentum and more than a month to put it together! We WILL be back! GBO!

I love your optimism, unfortunately you may be too optimistic

Gene Chizik was a terrible coach, but he was still RECRUITING before being fired. We didn't have that luxury. Dooley had such a good class in his first season because Kiffin had still been out recruiting before bolting to USC. All Dooley had to do was retain as many commits as possible.

he didn't even really have to do that, alot of Kiffin's class was early enrollees, so they were already at UT

I got a idea how but to make everybody happy lets fire the coach now and draw straws to see who coaches from week to week

I was going to point out all of the obvious reasons, but after reading through this thread, about 100 other ppl have taken care of that.

This is, by far, the most unrealistic fanbase. Tennessee getting a top 5 or 10 class after the last 5-8 years is like ETSU thinking they are going to pull a top 25 class, and they don't even have a football team!

Coach Jones and crew took a 50th ranked class and in TWO MONTHS made it into a top 25 class. We got two great QBs, another badazz WR, some strong DLinemen, etc.

Vonn Bell would have been nice but, we have some safeties, and this recruiting fail is on Dumpster fire Dooley.

How ironic was his interview today on Bell after the kid picked OSU??? I was at least hoping he would just say, "Who?"

Get behind this team and QYBing.... We might just turn a corner if we have some faith in our new coaching staff.

Recruiting ending today-- bout what I expected with this staff and time they had. The problem is you can't ignore the ole miss, candy, and AU situation totally, or you only see orange. I do, and have, had a problem with Butch bringing in all his buds from Cincy when he had the funds for coaching upgrades. Makes you wonder. I can tell you right now they are at that table saying " holy crap, this is SEC big boy football and recruiting, hope we can hang next year because we just got our lunch eaten." I hope these guys can coach because "coaching up" players in the Big East is quite a bit different than "coaching up" kids to compete and slug it out in the SEC EVERY WEEK! Here's to hoping....

NO, this is what happens when you have losing seasons four out of the last 5 years and for Auburn, didn't they just win the National Championship 3 years ago? They are not that far removed from winning. These kids remember us losing and Auburn winning a National Championship. A lot easier to recruit whit that in your recent Reseme.

Thanks! I always thought of myself as an expert- that's why I said I was in my post-- wait, no I didn't, I actually just gave my opinion that some don't agree with. That's life, you guys are so fragile that if someone says something negative or what you don't want to hear , you flip out and bash! Have a great day in kindergarten tomorrow and try to color inside the lines!
