This is what Butch has to do

Nope. If Bama comes in undefeated to the SECCG and we beat them, we will not be in the playoffs. Bama would still go. They would still be the best 1 loss team with the strongest SOS and impressive wins.

This is undoubtedly true.

Bama is the sole remaining P5 undefeated. They have one free mulligan in their back pocket. They lose to Auburn or us, and they may not be the #1 seed in the playoffs, but they'll still be one of the four.

The only way Bama doesn't make it is if they lose to both Auburn and us. I simply don't see that happening. One, maybe, on an outside chance. But both? Nah.

Butch has got to use whatever voodoo magic he has to make sure Da Gators slip up in Baton Rogue.

Then he's got to win out. Honestly don't care about style points now. Just win.

If he does these things then he is set up for glory and redemption. The most glorious glory. Yes the mountain is high. No, Butch has never ever ascended these heights. But in ButchSpeak - he's got the ultimate learning opportunity.

Beat Bama. Dash their dreams. Take the SEC away from them. Make Saban cry and lash out at Lane. Prove you belong here. Find a way to win on the biggest stage against elite competition.

Go Big Orange! Beat Bama in Atlanta! Redeem Butch!

Real question is: IF we beat Bama in Atlanta, do we (TN Fans) rush the field at the Georgia Dome and take down their goal posts?[/QUOTE

Could you imagine how the college FB world would flip upside down if our Vols was to make it to the SECCG and pull off the upset?! It doesnt hurt to dream ever now and again!😁

You can bet UT will have to beat the REFs to it will be ugly how much REF help they will get if its close

Yes....we absolutely take 'em down. :dance2:

I live 45 minutes from the GA Dome. I will trade 2 nights lodging with private bath for 2 REALLY GOOD seats to the SECCG. Heck I might even throw in breakfast if the seats are really good. Atlanta hotels will be charging out the Ying-Yang for rooms....so hit me up and let me know!

What Butch needs to do is win out...have this team ready to fight in Atlanta...win our bowl game...then focus on one of the best spread system OC's in the country to game plan/make in game adjustments/put our playmakers in great position to get the ball...then hire a great O-Line coach.

If the game were in Gainesville I might be a little worried. With it being in Baton Rogue I feel a little better about it.

I think we take care of Mizzou and Vandy, though I think Vandy will be the tougher game.

Vandy would love nothing more than to knock us out of it, but to Hell with them right now.

I am concentrating on Mis-e-ry.

Yes. Missouri needs to be the absolute focus..or else we'll have another So. Carolina style flub up...and I have to be honest...I am not excited to play Bama again. We have absolutely no chance in hell of winning that game. NONE. Good gawd. We just gave up almost 500 yards rushing to Kentucky for gawds sake... 100% healthy and we might have a punchers chance if everything went perfect...but with the injuries on top of it?

I hate Bama with all my soul...which is why I dread seeing us play them again and getting absolutely vaporized on the national stage...for a second time in the same year.

Maybe next yr if we stay healthy....but not this year. Let's be real. C'mon.

Not too worried about Florida. LSU has proved themselves under coach O, and Florida has not done much on their end to warrant any worry. Focus is on us!~

ESPN’s Football Power Index gives LSU an 82.2 percent chance to win on Saturday, and the Tigers opened as two-touchdown favorites in Las Vegas.

The FPI gives Tennessee a 67 percent chance of beating both Missouri and Vanderbilt to finish at 9-3 overall and 5-3 in SEC play. Its probabilities also show that Tennessee has a 55 percent chance of winning the division and representing the East in Atlanta.
And Hillary was 3-4 percentage points ahead of:rock: Trump also. Let's follow the sensible posters on this thread and beat Mizzou for now.
