UGA suffocates opponents more so than "making plays". Most programs have things they do well that they try to emphasize. UGA is the least "flashy" great team I think I've ever seen. They win most one on one match ups consistently. They don't make very many mistakes on either side of the ball. Just constant crushing pressure everywhere.

They're like quick sand. You struggle... they take advantage and suck you in further.

UT's chances IMO are pretty simple. They have to get some deep shots like they did vs UK. Hopefully tempo can force some mistakes like it did vs Bama. But really, it is probably more about the D than the O. UT has to go pressure. Be aggressive. Be exotic. Take big risks... and don't get too worried if you give up big plays. What I don't think they can do is bend don't break like they did vs UK. UGA is a much better version of what UK does on O.

They are reminding me of the Bama teams under Stallings.

Competent but not great on offense.

Suffocating on defense but they don't have the big splash plays as much.

Wow yeah. Ut would have absolutely beaten Pitt, and the BG score-----70- whatever. And possibly fla. Missed open passes----
Even if we lost with him at Pitt, he would have racked up more yards overall. I really think he would have had a 4-5 TD day against BGSU.

Well, since Dobbs, (and Hook is the better passer; IMO)-- that Tennessee has had a Bonafide All SEC Qb going into the Uga Game. Gives us hope for a good outcome.

None of the QBs since Dobbs were SEC caliber talent-wise QBs except maybe Shrout. Forget All-SEC caliber.

Unfortunately, even with a loss to us, I bet they still make the playoffs if they beat Bama in the SEC title game.

That said, with two losses...maybe we can continue our "1980" trash talk for a few more years.
See the thing about the Gumps. If they lose another game they lose the tiebreaker to Texas A&M and if they lose to Aubarn they’ll be behind them as well

Hooker is sneaky great.

If I were Georgia I would be extremely nervous going into Saturdays game.

How nice would it be to ruin their NC hopes?
All the pressure is on the dawgs.
It’s all gravy for us here on out regardless. A win would be great but even in a hard fought loss we get valuable experience and move forward.
Heupel will have our guys playing hard, loose, and having FUN!!! GBO! 🍊🍊🍊

So you haven't watched many of their games? They're third in the nation in yards per play. They hit alot of long passes.

College Football Stats - College FB Team Yards per Play | TeamRankings.com

I've watched plenty of their games.

I was referring to splash plays on defense.

They have 3 INT returns for TD.

The Vols have 2.

They have 28 sacks total.

The Vols have 24.

Ga is 48th in tackles for loss.

The Vols are 55th.

TN is actually ahead of them in turnover margin.

Im not making a direct comparison between the two defenses because it obviously isn't close. Just bringing up the numbers because they aren't making a huge number of game changing splash plays on defense. Key word in my previous post being defense.

They are making alot when you consider they are on the field less and are playing less plays than our guys, almost 20 fewer plays per game on average.

If you think about it, we could potentially play spoiler for Georgia and bama on Saturday. IF and it’s a big IF, we knock off Georgia, it would spoil their undefeated season and then if a 1 loss Georgia hands bama their 2nd loss in the SECCG, it would probably knock bama out of the playoffs.😎
Granted, that would probably affect our bowl game placement, but I’d still take it.
GBO!!

We aren’t beating Georgia we don’t have the depth or horses in the stable to go 4 quarters with them win this game. We might play close for the first half though and I do think we will score more on them than anybody else. Our defense will not hold up and our offensive line won’t either let’s just hope Hooker comes out healthy and we finish out 7-5 with a decent bowl I think we will all be happy with that considering the low expectations this season.
