This is Tennessee's most heartbreaking loss since...

I didn't expect a win so I am not heartbroken. I am rather optimistic about the future.

That day was heaven compared to 1990.

Not for me. Everyone on earth knew where Palmer was going and we just watched him. That was the day my wife figured out that I can be volatile during games.

I'm with Hatvol on this one. That 1990 Bama game was upsetting for a long time. Hell, it's still upsetting. A win today would have certainly gone a long was in healing that wound for me...Oh, well.

The 1990 game was before my time. Well I existed but I was only months old. I hope I'm not opening any old wounds here, but what was so awful about it. Besides losing to Bammer and getting a small streak built up?

i'm not disappointed, we played a much more talented and deeper team at home and we beat those guys up and down the field. no one said we had a chance but we proved everyone wrong. we took a fumble, scored in the 2 minute drill got an onside kick and almost won. i'm proud of these guys.

This one spews bad eggs. Bad. I saw CLK talking to Lincoln before the kick. I doubt he told him to wait for mammoth boy to get on top of Sullins. I think it's time to let the other kid try kicks... what's he gonna do? Miss? Been there, done that. LOST, LOST.

Dude, if this loss doesn't disappoint you I don't know what else to say.....

After they kicked to make it 12-3, I said it was over. I'm glad the team didn't, I'm proud of the way the team fought to the end. But it still hurts to lose like that. Especially to Bama, I remember that 1990 game and it hurt to, I was only 11 but I still remember my mom having to tell me it was just a game. But any lose to a rival in a close game that you feel your team should have win is heartbreaking!

You're gonna open up a can of worms with this. I was there that day.

If I remember correctly, Bama came in 3-3 having lost to Memphis. We were undefeated, riding high, and looking for our first win in 5 years over the Tide. It was one of those where we outmatched them - they never should've been in the game. Tied 6-6 we line up for a field goal with under a minute left. Bammer blocks it and the ball rolled all the way into UT territory. Bammer kicked a 47 yard field goal as time expired for the 9-6 victory.

I was younger but remember it very well. My Dad has been a part of the UT-Bama rivalry all his life (i.e. for all you guys who don't realize the intense hatred in this rivalry, see Verce's posts in the "hate Bama" thread). I remember him walking out of Neyland so upset that he vowed never to watch another UT game again.

That might have been the writing on the wall that led to Major's firing then... Man... I hate losing to Bama and Florida... If three years is bad I can't even begin to fathom 7...

Please... don't remind me... I'm hoping next year will save that... That's part of the reason I hate UF a little more than Bama right now.

After the pathetic game that Lincoln had did anyone really think he would convert? I mean I hoped he would, but I was not surprised to see him kick it into Cody's gut. The laughable thing is they credit Cody with winning this game by blocking two field goals. Tiffin and Lincoln won/lost this game. Simple as that. Georgia in 2001 was the worst that I have witnessed. They drove it down the field in less than a minute and scored a TD on nearly the last play of the game after we scored a huge TD to take back the lead.

Yeah... if he had just thrown to the slot receiver instead of trying for more yardage the pick six wouldn't have happened.

The 'squib' against Georgia

+1

That loss hurt. This loss hurts just as bad. I've never been so mad a a kicker. I keep telling myself that he's a kid but it's a good thing for him that i'm not in control of his scholarship because he would no longer have one.
