Who the hell cares what ESPN thinks about the 1938 championship? UT has a very legit claim to that. It's not like the Bama 41 title.

I want student athletes to put their heart and souls on the field for the Big orange and to bleed orange the rest of their lives, playing team football, while playing good football and bringing championships home.

Ridiculously talented football players arent always great, obviously. Ask Boise TCU Utah. When u put ur all on the field great things happen.

We don't have to make up championships to feel better about ourselves. We are from a state that is known for more than just its football teams. We didn't have to copy Harvard to get an identity.

We are not trying to chase Notre Dame (you will never bee as popular or as famous as the Irish Billy)
A better past? A past of institutional racism is not something I would be proud of Billy.

No reason to add more just so you can feel like your history beats Notre Dame's.

1973 - The year the UPI was threatened with banishment if they didn't change their criteria to after the bowl games. Bammer claims their title KNOWING that Notre Dame beat them in the Sugar Bowl and won the post bowl AP title.

So now you're down to 7.

1978 - USC beats the maroon wave head to head and finishes 12-1 and wins the post bowl UPI (coaches). So I guess that makes 6.

You have 6 now...we'll keep our 2.
