For my 4,000th post I wanted to pay tribute to the 2010/11 senior class and charge our fans to rally behind them.

No class in Tennessee history has had to endure what these guys have.

3 head coaches in 4 years. One of which was a legend that they probably at some point felt like they contributed to his firing. The next came in and spoke of loyalty and being a team then left them when they were finally getting past the pain they felt the year before. Now they are trying to suck up all the emotion and confusion and find some way to finish their collegiate and for some their football careers.

It is with this Vol fans that I charge you this September to put aside your differences, whether it be about the coaches past or present, the Athletic Director, or even the way we are recruiting and come out loud and proud to NEYLAND stadium and show these guys the loyalty they have shown YOU!

We MUST have as positive of an attitude as possible about this season and team because these young men have been through more than any before them and it will be tough for them to keep their heads up if things get tough.

So in summation Vol fans SUPPORT OUR SENIOR VOLS!

True Vols. They didn't need to go off and take time off like some others. They stuck with it and I, as well as the entire VOL NATION should be proud of them.

Best thread ive seen lately. These seniors have a chance to be the start of something special at UT. Its going to be hard like you said, but I sure hope the fans can be more understanding than usual.

This was the recruiting class that really made me start following recruiting. Of course, this was also shortly after I discovered this site...not a coincidence, methinks.

Right on! Well said! If you want to hate the coach, AD, or whatever else fine. You have the right to do so but these players especially the seniors didnt ask for all the changes that have went on they're being asked to play with the hand they are dealt every year, no say in any of it. Fans have no idea what all they have been through. So go to the games and be loud and let them know we support them and appreciate the effort they give day in and day out. Would have been very easy to quit like some did but they wanted to stay and play for the real UT!
Go Vols!

Go Big Orange!

I would like to thank you for posting this. I have been on here the last couple of months hesitating to read posts because of the negativity. If any of the members on VolNation have ever been a part of a sports team in the past and been through any coaching change, then you can understand some of the feelings these gentlemen are going through. I for one will stand in admiration of this group and for this group.:clapping:

Great post! All the seniors went through alot more than they should have. Their 4 years at UT they will have had 3 head coaches. Thank you guys for hanging in there. Glad you are Vols.

Just to add, its not just the seniors who have been through a lot. The way I see it, we should be just as supportive of anyone who signed thinking they were going to be playing for Fulmer or Kiffin. GBO!!!!!

Well said. And typo free. Excellent 4000th post.

I will support the Vols no matter what. I don't care who coaches, who plays or how we play. Of course, I want the best, but it all really boils down to one thing:

I BLEED ORANGE!!!!

Also a good point. The seniors, though, are in the unique position of being the leaders during the cornerstone rebuilding year. For that, I think they deserve special recognition (That is, if we get rebuilt).

I agree... but at the same time, talk about a bust of a recruiting class.

Glad these kids stuck it through though

Go Big Orange!

Gave me chill bumps. Great Post and Point. I've never understood why its not loud 90% of the time. They feed off of it. If we've sucked it up on D on a 72 drive, don't sit down and assume they'll score. Stand up, scream, and make the people around you do it. It will spread. Obviously we don't have a direct impact, short of drowning out their snap count or audibles (tuff to do). But its literally the "only" thing we have to offer, from the stands. I feel like sometimes a loud crowd after a few bad plays gives the team a charge to "buckle down". Basically, don't fall into the "here we go". It might be easy to do if we lose a couple. That's when we gotta cheer the hardest. I'm gonna scream my head off. The only way I stop is if they give up.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, this has been something I have been wanting to post for a while.

Ever since I saw a video of Gerald Jones from spring practice where he was discussing the new coaches and saw the pain and exhaustion in his face I knew it was wearing on them. He was just like "same old story for me, 4 offensive coordinator's, 3 head coaches, 5 position coaches oh well what do you do?"

Guys like that from across the country that chose to come play in the orange and white and had visions of great things that have had to deal with all of this are the ones that especially impress me.

I plan on bringing this thread back up Game week before UT-M to refresh everyone on what this season should be about.

They're tired, worn, beaten, and abused, but they're our tired, worn, beaten, and abused. They control what happens more than we do. But we can and should give them the support and loyalty that we , as eric pointed out, ask/expect(sometimes not so nicely) of them. We are pretty hard on them @ times, and we forget that they are human. We ask them to ignore their circumstances and battle through it, yet we bash/moan about "our" situation.
