DeBord to be Vols' offensive coordinator

"Not one person expressed concerns," Jones said Wednesday when asked if any recruits were worried about the up-in-the-air hire. "All they told me was, 'Coach, we trust you. Go get the best coach that fits us.' "

This is all I need to know. As a fan and a Tennessean I love the University of Tennessee. If the recruits believe in Coach Jones with his hire that is good enough for me. They put their futures in his hands. That says a lot about the trust these young men have in their coach

It's done so I support it, but a recruit trusting it doesn't make it valid. Recruits had faith in plenty of failed coaches. Dooley comes to mind. Not arguing your stance at all, just the logic.

My memory is different. Very few highly rated players seemed to trust Dooley. He even lost kids that grew up Vol fans.

For high profile players to put blind faith in CBJ says they see something special in him, IMO. They're willing to follow him regardless of who else goes. That's rare.

Lol what do you expect him to say? "Oh yeah, it was a @#$# show. We had people threatening to jump ship just foe mentioning DeBord."
Do people really believe everything public figures tell them?

I get it, just saying I don't remember any player commenting about signing with UT because of Dooley. They signed because it's the University of Tennessee, and frankly most of them had no better options at the time.

Dooley was just the head man. Butch is a true leader. JMO.

uhh, what do you expect him to say? He knows the fire storm coming on this hire and he has to cover himself... good lord some of you on here worry me as to how high a pedestal you have put this coach on.... I think some of you would literally jump off a bridge if Butch told you to...

Do you believe that if a recruit or player did not have any trust with a coach, that they would go ahead and sign with that team and wait till after to see who their position coach would be? There has to be trust there.

It is not that I put the coach on a pedestal as much as I trust him more with this team than the nay sayers that are posting so much against the hire. I guarantee he has had more success at coaching than 90% of the people putting him down for his decision making.

Good grief, get over it. Butch is the only one with anything on the line ( literally). What do you think Debord is going to do, run 3 up the middle and punt.

Come on, can we see how it looks first. I think hes here to help groom Z.

Just draw some plays in the dirt and play backyard ball with the talent we got. (jk)

GO VOLS

It doesn't matter if I or any Vol fan would jump off a bridge for CBJ! What matters is will his players. I have played for a coach that I would have if he said to and if these players have that same trust then we are about to see some amazing things happen for the good.

Faith=Trust
Trust=Support.

Any true Vol's fan will have fait to trust and then support CBJ and our Vol's players.

If you can't have those 3 things you need to go where you can find them.

For me. I will have faith in CBJ, I will trust his guidance, and I will support the Tennessee Vols!
