The future is a bit uncertain for the Vols right at the moment. But you have to feel as though the blackness of night has begun to be lifted and a new day has dawned. In a sea of uncertainty there are some bedrock truths that we as Vols fans can now rest upon with the announcement of Fulmer as AD.

1. Fulmer loves Tennessee with all his heart and will do his best to do right by it. No one person can save this mess but having him in charge makes me know that the very best efforts will be put forth on OUR (All Vols) behalf

2. Fulmer hates Alabama with every fiber of his being. He lives every day of his life contemplating the destruction of Bama football forever. The thought of little bammer children crying their little mouth breathing eyes out brings genuine joy to his heart. I argue that this fact and this fact alone makes him singularly qualified to lead UT athletetics.

Tonight I feast and sleep well.

I ask you, brothers and sisters in orange...

What is best in life?

What is best in life?

Crush your enemies
See them driven before you
Hear the lamentation of the women

It certainly isn't hate. More like confidence and determination

I suppose many other long-time, loyal UT fans saw something else on the podium today... Old, tired and out of touch... and quite possibly a snake in the grass.

We had a brilliant offensive mind and experienced, successful Power 5 head coach on the hook yesterday and turned him loose. Ole Phil had better come up with an alternative that's equal or better than Leach. Cutcliffe... No thanks.

The observation of how much he hates Bama is spot on. That is something that only someone from within the Vol family "gets".

With Fulmer as AD we have a VFL who get's it, who understands, and who at least has the right goals in mind and knows what is important. Did you hear what he said in the presser? I have given a great sigh of relief and the orange clothing was not in the mothballs long enough to start smelling.

I feel good about this change, and I think I am going to start feeling better about things as weeks progress. I'm ready for next season NOW!

The Vol tradition is once again in caring hands.

You're missing the point. This was about something MUCH BIGGER than one coach friend. This was about getting rid of a toxic influence that has caused 15yrs of issues and pain. If we had not done that then you would have to look forward to 15yrs more of the same issues. The only way to fix the issues that has led us to this point was by getting rid of the people that were causing the issues.

Much bigger than one coach, step back and look at the bigger picture

I don't buy this accusation being throw at Phil.

If that was true, why wait until now to make him AD knowing that the vast majority of fans would be ecstatic with the hire?

Thank you for some positive thinking. Fulmer has done nothing but been a class act and a true bleed orange fan of the university. He has never done anything to leave a stain on the name of brand. Anyone who says otherwise, is only trying to further the small stain the past 10 years has become. When times are tough you circle yourself with those who have your back no matter who calls, no matter what job comes open, no matter how much money is offered, no matter where that job is at, FAMILY. Thank you Fulmer, and screw you Haslam.
