This has gotten real bad

My Bama friends have had some sympathy for me, but not too much. A couple of them went to the Vols-Tide game a few weeks ago and brought me a "Saban is My Daddy" pin. It could have been worse. I was afraid they were going to bring me a "Keep Butch" pin. That would have been too much.

I remember a time when Alabama was HUGE! But then when we won 7 or 8 in a row and there was no doubt thinking this is not even fun anymore. Seriously!

Alabamab fans wouldn’t even bet me or able to talk trash. They all just said they went fishing Saturday when we played.

Remember when they hired a coach and he didn’t make it to first game?

Now shoe is completely on other foot. Doubt we will land another Saban like coach. But who knows? Just got to get some serious momentum first couple of years and the best will keep coming?

Go Vols!

This season is more frustrating than any of the Dooley seasons because at least Dooley's teams weren't even good on paper. On paper, Dooley had teams that should have won, at most, 7 games. He managed 6 one year and 5 in the other two. Disappointing, but those rosters were so depleted/thin you couldn't realistically expect much more.

Butch's best team on paper (last year's team) should have won 10 or 11 regular season games, won the East, and had a chance to win the Sugar Bowl. The 2015 team could/should have won 10 or 11 regular season games too. Talent-wise, this year's squad is capable of winning probably 8 or 9 games. They aren't any worse than LSU.

Butch gets the least out of his players more than perhaps any other coach in the country. The offensive line is full of 4-star players and Trey Smith is a 5-star. The starting defensive line consists of a 5-star (McKenzie), an extremely highly touted 4-star (Tuttle), another highly touted 4-star who was the #1 JUCO in the country (Kongbo), and another 4-star (Taylor). All 4 of those guys could have gone almost anywhere in the country. Collectively, they somehow are just a mediocre defensive line. There's no way each of those guys are just simply underachievers or outright busts. It comes back to coaching and talent development.

I agree the "D" line has way under achieved this all falls back on coaching. This set of coaches don't teach anything

No more Tiger High bro they done graduated..

I think this ranked tiger team the way they are playing now would torch our "D" for about 40-50 points. They don't have much defense but it would not take much to stop our predictable offense

You all fail to realize that even John Gruden would have trouble generating any offense with the players we have left that are healthy. You need a good OL to block for the QB and open holes for the RB...the Vols OL is now down to the last man standing...you also need receivers that run correct routes, block downfield and can cat h balls thrown at them...we don't have that right now...if we did we would have beaten FL, SC and UK. Our DL has little depth and gets tired whenthe offense continues to go 3 and out. There is little depth at LB due to injuries. Safeties are also injured. Not all of these factors can be blamed on the coaches.

On the brighter side Notre Dame was 4-8 last year...didn't fire Kelly...and they are now in the final four this week. Next year will be different. The Vols will be back.

Its year 5. Whose responsibility is it to recruit and develop the players we need to compete? Not having depth in the Butch Jones 5th year is...BUTCH JONES FAULT. Its just another sign that CBJ isn't the right guy. Kirby Smart is ranked #1 in his 2nd season on the job.

And LOL at the comparison to Brian Kelly. Before last year, he had been 55-23 and had led the Irish to 2 10+ win seasons and a National Championship appearance. Butch before this year was 30-21 and has a handful of 2nd place division finishes. Not a comparison.

This kids needs to go back to school everything he said is butch direct responsibility. If we had not had about 40 to 50 percent turnover every year from our classes we would have depth...they probably wouldn't be coached up but atleast we would have depth....butch made poor hires for his staff thst resulted in no growth and he is also responsible for our roster and turnover....he is literally a fail

Yep and if this administration isn't careful this next hire will be the people's elbow and we will be out for the count.

Pray it doesn't come to that. I have serious trouble thinking about a $340 mil renovation while at the same time seeing an admin. that can't get on the same page when it comes to a coaching hire. I don't need to see a home run hire just a hard worker who has a feel for SEC football and makes progress every year.

About 3 weeks ago fiqures were made available and UT generates the 2nd most revenue from football of the 14 SEC teams. Bama leads in both revenue taken in and % put back into the football program. UT drops way down in the % put back into the football program. We all know we can do better and if it is happening, (boosters wanting to control the coach), that needs to stop. It serves as a hindrance.

I think another coach doesn't have this many injuries. Jones is snakebite. Either their training and conditioning are bad
