This has been odd for me

It was a **** show. Osborne was a highly recruited corner. Did he develop him? No. He started freshman by choice. Flowers as well. They all like looked like ****. You can eat **** if you want, I’ll pass.

There certainly is some truth to this. I mean we lost games last yr but the way those freshmen cbs were getting beat today was sickening!

Sure he started freshman “by choice”, but it was a necessary choice because of what Butch left him. Sure Osborne was highly recruited, but doesn’t fit Pruitt’s system at all (need tall, big corners). I’m as tired of losing as anybody, but if you expected 9 wins a year after going 4-8, you were fooling yourself. Coach Pruitt is (imo) a solid coach. He’s not Jesus

I disagree about it not impacting the season, and to a lesser degree about not stopping the run. Really hard runs by that back. They were so good at passing it opened up the run. I am most disapoinyed with the entire front 7 that one writer said could mimick the Broncos of 2015. LOL
I say not impacting the season because winning this game, IMO, may boost our confidence some, but we’re not going undefeated, so we don’t need a resume building win to get into the playoff. Otherwise, it seems pretty irrelevant.

Also, we knew on those last few drives that they were going to run almost every play and still couldn’t stop it. Thats not taking away from how hard they were running, just to say our guys aren’t good enough to stop something they know is coming.

Well...not as good as I hoped, much better coached than last year. JG has improved a ton from last year. Oline still needs some time and work. We knew it was going to be a long day with pass defense, corners all awfully young but talented. They will get better as the year goes on. I wont predict our wins and loses, but I will say that todays Tennessee team would have curb stomped last years Tennessee team.

Best take I’ve seen. Obviously today’s performance wasn’t the best, but acting like the sky is falling after every loss (really, every bad play) regardless of circumstance is what children do

I remember watching an interview CJP did and he said we’ll call plays that the players can do. Which, judging by this days game, still has a very long way to go.

Good point.

The most important thing is they showed heart today. Last season's team might have given up once they hit adversity.
Disappointment of getting stomped like that stings because everyone wants to win for the players, coaches, staff, fans, etc.

That aside, there were plenty of glimpses of promise to come. How about Guarantano and Jordan among others on offense?
How about Alexis Johnson and Shy Tuttle on defense?
How about that 4th down touchdown call?
How about recovering the fumble?
How about good punts and kickoffs?

We're still ride or die for Tennessee. It's the valleys that make the mountaintop experiences sweeter.

Bring on all the idiot comments that thought we would win this game easily.
I didn’t expect our o-line to not improve out of the gate. I didn’t see how the dbs played so bad. Secondary is slow as hell. Oh yeah, I wasn’t to pleased on our offense play calling

I've seen this for several years. Some of our posters, with each new season, seem to think we should be playing in the NFL. When we don't, they get mad and want the coach fired! Guess it makes them look like they know football. I wanted us to win, and disappointed we didn't, but never thought we would. I'll just sit back and watch what Pruitt does with this group. (I can imagine what kind of response I'll get with this:))

Didn't he realize he was playing with Lyle's recruits?

Yeah entire front 7 was disappointing. Yeah its a new scheme but come on get some penetration.

Disappointed in the DL, and as a group, the front 7. Can't get any pressure and can't stop a running back at the line of scrimmage after initial contact. Am not going to diss 3 freshmen in the secondary - yet. Hell it was WVA, they were gonna get theirs.

Sick of watching defenses that perform like this. You sure it's not 2017?

Well we can still go 11 and 1.
We could also still go 0-12.
Didn't think we would be good this year, and we aren't. I do think by the end of the year we will be much better and will surprise some next year. The offense looked better than I expected, once the OL got it together. Jordan was impressive. Guarantano looked great. I was disappointed by the LBs, I expected them to make more of an impact. Starting 2 freshmen at DB told me all I needed to know about how bad off we were there.

I'll be the first one to say I never was aboard the JG train. I could never stand him and hated watching him run our offense.

Tonight I've had a change of heart and he did great tonight and surprised me and showed emotion. He finally got my vote.

Offensive live was non existant at first but finally got better as the game went on. Offense looked much much better. Was really pumped on our first scoring drive. We ran. We passed. We did everything perfect.

What I didn't agree with was after the first scoring drive we seemed to abandon the passing game the next drive. I think we should have passed more. We were exploiting their defense for the most part with our passing game. They couldn't stop those quick 6 or 7 yard streaks then us turning around stopping to catch the ball. Those routes worked everytime.

Other than that. Defense was a pure dumpster fire. Every team we play will use that game tape and pick us apart. Defense seems to be our biggest weakness. Offense looked great. O line could use a little work.

Loved the call to go for it on 4th early in the game. Really happy with Pruitt thus far.

Really hate it that we lost. Hate the refs missed a bunch of calls. Hate the lightning delay.

Just an armchair review from a die hard fan. Still gonna bleed orange in the morning.

Just remember that Nick Saban was 7-6 his first year and lost at HOME to Louisiana Monroe!! It will get better!
