This Game Really Opened My Eyes

I went to the game tonight and after having seen what went down I'm actually backing off of blaming Butch Jones. As fans we wanted to see more of our passing game and by God we sure got it. We now know why Jones and Debord haven't been calling passing plays. If it's not Dobbs throwing uncatchable balls it's our butterfinger receivers dropping them. After tonight I've come to the conclusion that we really aren't a good team. The Iowa game and all the hype in the off season really set a tone for us that NEVER should have been set, it was all a rouse. What I witnessed tonight wasn't just play calling problems it was an all around team problem. We were missing tackles all over the field on defense, our db's were leaving receivers open to catch the balls. Our offensive blocking is still weak but we all knew that going into the season.

We are a young team guys and as much as we don't want to hear it, or believe it from Butch or anyone else the fact is we ARE a young, flawed team, plain and simple.

theres tons of young teams. i hear what youre saying but this **** is ridiculous. i no longer care what Butch says or any pundit says. its inexcusable its on HIS head. he's the 'alpha' dog, who talked the big talk. i see bull**** on the field.

The team is a mirror image of its leadership with Jones as the HC.

All this you said about the team is true!
Usually an indication of sub-par coaching!

So basically our offense is bad and our defense is bad but it's still going to be contributed to being young?

I think it is time to fire a couple of coordinators! Mainly the OL and OC and promote Elder to OL and promote RB coach or Azzani to OC. Put in Richmond and a couple of the other Freshman OL and bench this OL. They aint getting it done! Put in Dormandy for a few series as well. Shake things up a little.

You want Zach "my wide receivers can't get open" Azzani promoted to OC? Don't you need to be good at your current role to warrant a promotion?

No, at a minimum, we need to relieve SEVERAL assistants (not all) of their duties and get some real ones in.

Paying the $$$ for top quality assistants would be much cheaper than getting rid of CBJ. Would want a new AD to have to approve the hire.

Didnt recruit any 5 star DBs - Sutton cant cover all of the other teams recievers

How many 5* DBs has Mizzou recruited? I mean they have won the East two straight years so they must have 5*s all over the place. Not a valid excuse.

You're backing off Jones cause our players aren't playing well? Its kinda the coaches jobs to make sure the passing game is good.

This is what you get when you hire an old washed up o-line coach to come be your OC and QB coach in the SEC. Not to mention a WR coach who sucks and bases his entire resume off of 1 single WR in the NFL. Brown is a amazing WR but I dont see him using that ole coach z stance on sundays!!!
