This Game’s Coaching

Terrible clock management, gave them an extra 25 seconds at the end. Mind blowing mistake.

We gave them a full extra minute between the snap infraction and Pruitt calling the time out to save Indiana from having to burn their last one.

Man, that TO by Pruitt was really really bad. I have no idea what he was thinking. Obviously he wasn't paying attention to the play clock, but using a TO there was terrible strategy even if the play clock wasn't in play.

We looked terrible in the 3rd quarter. How can you expect fans who love this team and support them to not be upset?
You can be upset without trashing the team. Heck I was upset. Was sure we were going to lose. But I said we were having a bad game, not that the Coaching staff were clueless clowns

IU had 2 plays. The tight end slant and the QB keeper. We made zero adjustments at the half to defend either. Wtf did they talk about then....?

JG threw 2 picks. He wasn’t good, but keeps giving you wins. People just hate him. It’s fairly obvious......there is/was nothing else.

Hopefully Tennessee has a better option next year.
Never have hated JG. Most disappointed I've been with him was when he went thru his pouting phase and the Bama game.. 🙄

What I do hate is his consistent inconsistency.. He has the ability to be really good but just can't seem to play that way on a regular basis.

Love the kids heart and his effort for the school. He will always be a VFL inmy book..

I really want to believe in the guy but he just makes it really difficult some times.

Our defense gave up only 16 points..with JG throwing 3 picks.

Defense will be stout from here on out.

JG BETTER NEVER TAKE ANOTHER SNAP.

Chaney will get his butt chewed ...again...for not running the ball inside the 10 ...4 straight passes is not UT nor CJP football.

Every bit of this.

I’d see your point if this was a rare occurrence to look this lost. But don’t forget end of last season, and beginning of this season. This is not so rare to see games this ugly

yea that’s why I’m hoping someone who isn’t currently on the roster is starting next year.

I don’t hate JG.....right now he gives Tennessee the best chance to win......but he isn’t great.....and Tennessee needs better......especially with consistency.

JG is family now. Someone you just want to scream at him, but he is one of us. Glad he turned it around when it counted tonight.

I am going to try to not focus on the times he fell down but on the way he got back up. That is what makes a man.

Yep. JG tried to take us out of the game, but we cane back strong. I’ll give him some credit for coming in and providing two scoring drives. But at the same time they were mostly runs and screens to Eric gray

The Vols pulled this one out. Just want to thank this team for a great finish. Hopefully, the vols will get the QB Situation worked out before the start of next season. We have recruited well on the OL and DL where championships are won. GBO!!!!

It is the man’s 23rd game as a head coach at ANY level. Give the man a little grace. He knows football and the players give it all for him.

I will remember two special times this season when CJP really won me over
1) the THREE timeouts to ice the kicker at the end of the first half against Bama
2) the onside kick tonight.
he is still learning, but he is a wiley old fox and he is going to burn some people in his career who underestimate him

The clock management and play calling in the final 2:11 were.. interesting.

What do you mean? The clock stopped on the penalty. I have no idea why the offense was still on the field after the penalty though, which forced a timeout. But the timeout was pretty meaningless at that point anyways since it was rather clear Indiana was going to have the ball last anyways. The last timeout before the 4th down play was also smart as it allowed us to set up the defense we wanted.

All the clowns who were bailing on this team and CJP in the early 4th qtr, JUST GET OUT.

I am sick of the negativity, the bad mouthing, moaning, and bitching. Tennessee has a Coach, they have each other’s backs, and the believe in each other.

The Butch Jones years are over. This is the new era of Tennessee football.
and yes; CJP is the man.

I am starting to believe we can come back when things aren't really going our way. Even when we 13 points behind with less than 8 minutes to go, I still was telling my wife all we need is two touchdowns. For the past few years this mindset was not even fathomable.

It was almost like today’s game was coached by Butch Jones.
Ummmm... no. This team tackles. This D executes pretty consistently to the extent of their current talent and development.

If JG hits open receivers in the first half then the Vols enter the half 21-3... people would be talking about how brilliant the coaching staff is.

The false start gave them 25 extra seconds...game management didn't have one thing to do with it.....good lord

They didn't have to line up at all! He could have ran the clock down to one second and used his last time out then try to make them jump. Good Lord I worry about some of you.
