Gents, i cant even sleep because of this mess. Every time I set my phone down and try to force myself to forget about UT football in general, it happens. Like a crack addiction. Somehow, my phone ends up right back in my hand as I lie here in bed. I seriously cant get over the fact that this coaching search is exactly like the last two. Absolutely unbelievable but believable at the same time only because i witnessed the last two searches. Depressing, like theres just no way out and we are sitting in the bottom of a 20 mile deep pit...no ladders, no rope. Have to claw your way out on your own somehow by your fingertips.
Man oh man.

Many of their fans feel like a lot of our fans. They've had a couple of bad runs with their hires since Urban left.

It's an honor to be entrusted with the task of leading these student athletes and helping them to not only be successful as student athletes...but successful as young men. First off I wanna let you all know what you can expect from the young men who will be wearing the orange and white of the University of Tennessee. We will be a disciplined team with big hearts and I will expect...no I will demand that they give a maximum effort every day at practice and during our football games. That they represent this University with pride and effort. I've created an acronym for what I expect from these student athletes. It's called P R O V E. I intend for these young men to P R O V E everyday. What's it stand for? P- Pride. Pride in this university but mostly for themselves in the classroom and on the field. R- Relate. Relate to one another. Love one another. O- Orange. Wear the orange of the University of Tennessee with pride. V- Vigilance...in the classroom and on the football field. And E- Excellence. I want these young men to be excellent as young men and grow in this program.

I can't promise we will win any football games. I CAN promise we will try to P R O V E ourselves as a team that cares about and respects one another. That we love one another and commit to each other that we will grow as student athletes and as young men and represent this University the best way we can. With that...I'll take any questions you might have". -UT's new football coach Joe McGooglevich.

I'm contemplating whether to go to games or stay home myself. I've decided to stay home and give my tickets up. I'll stubhub for awhile if I decide to go.
Its bad when I find myself in awww of UCF. Cheering for the undefeated season meanwhile Vols lose 50-7.
& play all out but I'm praying UMass doesn't pull the upset out, this is the 1st year I knew we would lose weeks before each game. Worse than Dooley at least he scored from time to time....
What stings the most is UT doesnt care so y should I
They can't shell out for one great coach once out of 4 chances? Just once in awhile I'd enjoy to win doesn't have to be every year!! Cmon is it to much to ask to just be competitive.😞😞😥😒

While today the media certainly was not praising Tennessee ofr the fans.......they have backed off a bit on their tantrums........so this will blow over.

Tennessee will get a new coach......it may not be who we want, but it will not be Butch.......and we can hope and dream things will be turned around.

This year's D was worse than we could ever have imagined..........while next year it may not be good.......it should certainly be better.

The QB situation was a mess this year..........while many don't like him, at least we have a starter with some experience.......so that should be better.

Tons of coaching changes in the SEC.......many are in the same boat.....and you can bet it will take some a while to get it going............so that is a plus.

We don't have the best talent, but Tennessee has more than some in the SEC and since so many have new coaches, we could expect to see some improvement.

While this may not last Tennessee basketball and the Lady Vols are looking good.

It is almost Christmas time........ask for the coach you want.....maybe you can get a Christmas miracle. If not then it is still the Christmas season and watch Elf or something.

It's been mentally exhausting the past two years. Last year we played almost everyone down to the wire but it was truly a thrilling season, I wouldn't take it back (even though I want to win). This season happens and it starts as if we are going to be a repeat of last year but it just gets worse and worse. It's taken its toll on fans.

Now when we get rid of the baggage (Butch) and are ready to start over, on the path to success by knowing what we need, we are met with imcompetency from Currie/AD.

What we thought was a dumpster fire has turned into an inferno by the media.

Stay strong and hope that some rising star coach will take the risk.

I can’t do that, wouldn’t do that. But I can stop watching and going to the games. My piddly little donations won’t be missed but those are stopping also.

You did good. You are right. Many other SEC schools are also going to have new coaches. When was the last time there was this much turnover? MSU,Florida,Arkansas, TA&M. Who is the "old man of the east"? Would that be Stoops at Kentucky? Mason? Gosh - they said Stoops wouldn't survive.

Yes, come Fall, they will still kick it off, and yes.. Jones is gone. As bad as this is- no way I'm pining for Jones.

Sorry, but you are now seeing things as they are. Hit me during the Dooley era after over 50 years of attending games. As I posted elsewhere, this is not the UT we know and love. This is a dying program, and that's due to Haslam and the hires he has forced upon us. We haven't done a thing in football in well over a decade and by the looks of things, it's going to remain that way. Until the Haslams are gone and solid leadership is in place, UT, as we knew it, is nothing but a fading memory.

Yeah it wears your patience thin. 10 years of futility and Schiano was next up.. They just don't get it.. I probably wouldn't either if they keep showing up and handing me money. They've been getting rewarded for failure way to long.

It's a crazy time. I went to the SMU message board last night to see if the Chad Morris rumors were true. Man.. It's ugly for us over there.

I was all in yesterday on Gundy. Maybe that too was a pipedream but it was honestly the last bit of hope that I had. Who knows...maybe one of the names bouncing around now will surprise us with a grand slam but I think its unlikely (don't care if its Tee, Steele, Kiffin, Leach, or anyone else). Honestly there is a reason that some of these names are only being floated by the fanbase, because the AD is not seriously looking at them (whether or not they should be is a completely separate topic of discussion).

My point here is this, I'm tired. I want to have more energy and more fight but if I am honest, I am already bought into the next coach no matter who they are. Yea I know its probably kicking the can down the road to 2021 or 2022 but at this point, who are we kidding? I have spent too much time and investment in Tennessee since really becoming a fan as a young boy in the early 90s. Yea, those times were good and I stuck with it then, but I have also stuck with it since firing Fulmer. 10 LONG YEARS ago. I have since fathered 2 young sons who I want nothing more than to experience stability and greatness once again. My sons sing Rocky Top like its a bedtime nursery rhyme, we go all out during football season, we LOVE Tennessee, but I am tired. Its probably a bit dramatic but I honestly feel like I might have seen the best days of Tennessee already past. I hope I am wrong.

That being said...whoever becomes the next HC, I will be there in 2018, a little worse for the wear, but I will always come back.
