This defense is legitimately bad.

Tim banks The gift that keeps gifting
We are at our best offensively, when we are playing fast, it’s just a fact. When we slow down, we struggle. Josh made the decision to bring this time of offense with him, and it’s an unconventional way to play football. So, if we are at our best when we play fast, we are gonna have to play fast for 4 quarters. Unfortunately, the downside playing this way puts the defense in a bad situation of running out of gas fast. I know we were missing starters that will help when they get back, but I’m afraid we are just gonna have to outscore everyone and hope for the best that we can get a couple turnovers on defense. On occasion, this offense will have a quick 3 and out and your defense that just got gashed is right back out there. When you decide to play this way, you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Fact of the matter is, we will struggle defensively against quality teams, and there are plenty of quality teams left on our schedule. Tim Banks has to take risks defensively, he really has no chance of producing turnovers if he doesn’t. Georgia QB made a perfect throw on the 4th and 6 over our young corner. The way we play will always have you pulling out your hair, it’s just football played a way that most are not used to. Being the DC at UT (except he makes great money)is tough, because of the way we play offense in tempo, you have to understand that, when you decide to take on the challenge.

At least with the injuries we have now. And even with injuries, giving up 500 yards to Stockton and that offense at home is putrid.

This pass defense is awful and has been shredded by Angeli and Stockton. Almost 600 yards passing given up in just two games against QBs that aren’t close to the best we’ll see this year.

There’s nothing in the middle of this defense either. The DTs we have left get swallowed up and Telander looks like he runs a 5.0 40. He’s slow and got roasted all game. And for some reason we want to play a walk on 20 snaps a game at LB despite all the young guys we have recruited. That is unexplainable.

If Hobbs, Moi, and McCoy can’t come back, this is going to be a very bad defense that gets killed all year. Horribly disappointed in Banks and what he’s doing right now, we should not have regressed this far.
Really bad take.

Is Georgia’s defense good or bad? The difference in the two defenses is separated by 6 total yards.

It’s almost as if we played the #6 team in the country….
Some people have never played the game and have no understanding of what is going on out there. Did they see the throws being made? The fourth down TD from Stockton was one of the best passes possible.
Two heavyweights went at it yesterday and we lost. I predict we grow and get better as the season goes along, esp if we get some bodies back which will occur. The hate for Banks is juvenile. I thought it was a good plan and well called for the most part.

I'm not going to say Bolton is terrible at LB, but I will say,if Tellabder isnt hurt, he's the slowest starting LB in the SEC. I understand we're missing 2 CB's, but we've recruited that position really well in recent years, time for someone to step up. CJH, if the defense is hurting us, stop taking your foot off the pedal on offense and play like your behind all the time.

Somebody please tell me what having a backup cb in and 2 starting DTs (even though we rotate) has to do with this play call on 3rd and 4 during an 8 minute drive with our safety a time zone away standing on the 15 yard line.

I hate we lost, but that is what I figured would happen. Esp. with the players we had out. But the outcome along with the hope of getting those players back is exciting to think about.

Defense loses it's best 2 DL to the draft. Offseason and early games are bad for us with the defense losing best 2 CBs and starting interior linemen.

People are surprised that losing 4 (3 interior) DL hurt our ability to stop the run, especially against a renowned physical run team like UGA?

Not to dogpile on the CB that got picked on but are you guys actually serious? The majority of penalties and big plays were that single player. Y'all actually think that happens with McCoy/Gibson starting with Hood as rotational depth? Unless they're a generational talent at CB there isn't a single True FR CB that could have handled that assignment.

Tim Banks is legitimately bad in big games. Watch we will hold Miss State to like 10 points lol he wants to flex on the smaller teams to make himself seem better than he is when in reality we are just out talen ting people
Sometimes we get out talented ourselves. We can't just expect every 5-star talent in the portal or HS, clamoring to come to U-T. We get our share of very good players. It will take a while before we can compete with 'Bama and GA for all the 5-stars.
