This defense is legitimately bad.

At least with the injuries we have now. And even with injuries, giving up 500 yards to Stockton and that offense at home is putrid.

This pass defense is awful and has been shredded by Angeli and Stockton. Almost 600 yards passing given up in just two games against QBs that aren’t close to the best we’ll see this year.

There’s nothing in the middle of this defense either. The DTs we have left get swallowed up and Telander looks like he runs a 5.0 40. He’s slow and got roasted all game. And for some reason we want to play a walk on 20 snaps a game at LB despite all the young guys we have recruited. That is unexplainable.

If Hobbs, Moi, and McCoy can’t come back, this is going to be a very bad defense that gets killed all year. Horribly disappointed in Banks and what he’s doing right now, we should not have regressed this far.

Tim Banks is legitimately bad in big games. Watch we will hold Miss State to like 10 points lol he wants to flex on the smaller teams to make himself seem better than he is when in reality we are just out talen ting people

They picked on a true freshman CB. We are deeper than we have been in years, but we aren’t deep enough to overcome growing pains of youth that we are forced to play.

We should be good this year and talent wise better next year if we can hold these players another year and not lose a ton to the portal.

Let’s see! Missing 2 excellent DT’s in Hobbs and Moi.

Missing best corner in the country and Gibson which is all SEC good.

Replaced an all American corner with a true freshman.

Wonder why we having issues? It’s no secret!

bad take IMO...esp with the volume of injuries on that side of the ball
Injuries are part of football. Losing a guy like Jermod McCoy is going to be felt for sure, but going into this season Jaxson Moi and Hobbs are nothing more than solid college players. Hobbs may end up being more than that, but it wasn’t like we were missing John Henderson and Albert Hanyesworth today. Our DL doesn’t look like an SEC DL from a physicality standpoint

I truly don’t understand these takes. Sure, Gunner Stockton isn’t good but are we forgetting about every other player on that team that has a 5 star player at nearly every position? We certainly can’t claim that. What level of bad is Georgia’s defense to give up that many yards to a journeyman QB and that many points?

Shootouts happen. As others have mentioned, sure we gave up some big plays and bad penalties but the majority of those were all on our freshman DB that was starting due to injuries.

I will not lie though, that first drive of the 3rd quarter was terrible by our defense.

I'm not sure I'm on board with the statement IF we can get healthy (which you do call out). We are playing 2s in key positions but Gunner is a lot better than people are giving him credit for. Is he a great passer? No. Did UGA go hyper vanilla in the first two games? absolutely.

Time will tell but we took a super power program to the brink and should have won. Sometime college games just go that way.

Really wish we curb stomped them though..... IF we had our starting D out there I beleive they would have scored between 24 and 28 points.

They aren't the #6 team in the nation, they are better than that.
Agree. I think Georgia isn’t as good as Georgia usually is but I still think they’re better than anyone else in the conference. Ohio State I will say is better than them maybe Oregon as well. Penn State is decent but idk if I would take them over Georgia. Miami also decent. LSU maybe. I think easily Georgia is a top five team. Jmo though.

Missing a first round pick at corner and another nfl level corner is gonna hurt any team in the country. Not to mention the d-line injuries. We’re gonna be alright
Absolutely it hurts. Probably the difference in the game. But there’s no guarantee we see either of those guys the rest of the way. More likely we see neither than we do both, imo

I am not 100% confident in that as well. I am kind of leaning towards Georgia winning it all but we will see. I think B1G teams are great but none of them have played solid competition yet.
