I keep seeing people post about similar this similar that ....

Let me tell you what's NOT the same. This team is playing well because they are enjoying the game of football! They're not playing for some record. They're playing to get better and to win! They're not packing it in early.

QBs don't care who is starting among them. Defenders out there coming up clutch on the goalline! Nigel Warrior has 60 tackles 4 ints and 2 sacks for crying out loud! Who saw that coming?

We ain't facing no Drew Lock, Will Grier this go around. Our DBs are going lock them down.

Jennings, Callaway, and Palmer are playing together for only a few more games. They are on a mission. The next 3 games, no secondary will be able to slow us down...

31-7 Vols! Mizzou ain't $#!+...

Will not be a easy game Saturday nite hope we are rested and ready for a fight. We were very lucky to win the Kentucky game
There was NOTHING lucky about that Kentucky win, nothing. We started out slow offensively and defensively, fell behind 13-3 at the half. Coaches and players made great adjustments at the half and dominated the second half defensively. Outscored Ky 14-0 in the second half despite having 2-3 touchdowns being called back. Had the game fully under control until Chandlers untimely fumble, forcing our defense to once again assert its dominance with the goal line stand, despite a bad penalty by one of our freshman that put us at an even worse disadvantage. Then, our offense, with our backs at the goal line, lined up and got a first down to end the ballgame.

Absolutely nothing lucky about that win, it was a legit, hard-earned victory.

The GA State game could, probably wont, but could be the game that ruined a chance to go bowling. I know that's why they play the games, but you have to beat your cupcakes. Then, you are playing to better your bowl selection, not just to claw your way into any bowl.

Because we're the better, hungrier, more experienced team.

I agree it will be a fight, and could go either way, but I keep seeing people making statements like this. We were not “lucky” to win the KY game. In fact, we were probably the unluckiest team in college football that game.

5 times we got in the end zone on them, 3 were called back, and they only got their second TD because we dropped a punt.

They are lucky the final score wasn’t 35-7.

Which it very well could have been had the offense been on the field for more than 18 minutes. UK had the ball for 42 minutes and still lost. That says more about their lack of performance than it does UT.

How so...they controlled the ball well from redzone to redzone.

But we turned them over on downs 3 times. That was because when it was critical (when we really needed) we beat them the point of attack!

That's ALL on us.

We had just destroyed a top 25 KY team last year and we looked better in that game than we did against Kentucky this year. You can’t really base a team’s progress on how good the other teams are. Reality is Bama, Missouri, Vandy, Kentucky and South Carolina were all better last year IMO.
That said, I do think we have a much greater chance to win these games than we did last year and we are much more consistent on defense. Additionally, we seem in better shape. For our Defense to go something like 45 minutes last game and still win the game with a stand within the 5 speaks volumes. Regardless, Missouri will be playing for a bowl game and Bryant wants to look good down the stretch to help him in the draft. They will be hungry, and the game is away. This is our biggest game of the season and it most likely will be a close game.

That said we were healthier.

If we get the ground game going and keep them off the field then we’ll be ok. We’ve got to commit to running enough to give it a shot though. Otherwise If we don’t get consistency from the QBs it’ll probably play out like every time before.

We have to be able to generate rush yards somewhow, but make no mistake we win this game on the backs of our WRs. Chandler needs to add to that effort too.

Our defense is going to get after Bryant big time.

Last year just like this year..UK couldn't throw the ball. We won! Vandy and Mizzou had veteran QB who could consistently complete downfield throws.

That is not the case for either team this year.
Throw in the fact that we have two QB of our own that can run the offense. And our defense is WAY better than last year.

Also OUR defense held UK (both played UK at UK with Bowden at QB)
to almost 100 less yards and 15 fewer points...

And our offense scored 10 more points than Mizzous. Why? Because we can generate downfield plays when we want to. That and clutch defense is what beat UK.

If you look at stats this should be a low scoring game just based on those stats.

UT offense 109th......Mizzou offense 82nd
UT defense 35th.....Mizzou defense 10th

GA state is already bowl eligible. They've beaten Army and Troy this this year. Were a healthy Ellington at QB away from hanging with App State.
Just saying, they're not UT Martin or North Texas. They present some problems and we were still in practice mode.

BYU was mostly JG not keeping the chains moving and turning the ball over every chance he got.

Neither of these variables are a thing anymore. Whole different team...

The Ga state game we just flat out blew it-now BYU is another story if we miss a bowl I fully blame that game.We had that well in hand for 59 mins and UT does what UT does gives up that crucial 4th and 55,000 somehow and manages to lose.10 guys did their job one didn’t and well u see the result. Its a team effort but let’s be honest.

Lets revisit this after the next two Saturdays. It could very well be 2018 all over again.

Of course this wouldn't even be an issue if the whole GOT BEAT BY GA STATE thing didnt happen..................

Sad - the result and the post.

UT offense 109th......Mizzou offense 82nd
UT defense 35th.....Mizzou defense 10th

They've played some really bad offenses this season. Bryant early part of the season was keeping the ball and controlling the game that way. Protecting his defense.

Mizzou is 0-4 last 4 games....
Tenn is 3-0 last 3 games...

We also played a "statistically " good defense in UAB.

Our defense and Offense have improved. More so the defense...
But basically one team is heading down, the other prohecting up.

I think we are on the same page here... UK controlled the ball for 42 minutes in part because Stoops' strategy is to waste as much clock as possible. Despite having the ball for 42 minutes, our defense/ST held them to 13 points and they lost. Therefore, in no way was UT lucky to win. It sounds to me like UT had a pretty dominant defensive performance when it mattered. Show me what other team controls the ball for 42 minutes and loses.

Since OP has the mind reader, maybe he can hop into the DeLorean and bring back the final score.

This true but you're wasting your time, to some the first two games of this season will be the cause of all of the evil in the world till the end of time. They might have a point, Saban lost to Louisiana Monroe early on at Bama, the program still hasn't recoved.

Good lord. I know you own a horse, it’s deceased, and you beat the fire out of it. If we win a natty every year for the next decade, some of you people will still be posting this.

The loss is relevant to this season, no matter how much people on here want to believe it isn’t. If we win 6 or 7 the SEC won’t put us in a good or even decent bowl game b/c to the non UT fans we are still the SEC team that lost to GA State. To everyone not wearing orange glasses it takes a lot more than beating some mediocre teams to overcome one of the top 10 worst losses in UT history.
