If you cannot understand why seeing Alabama lose at anything brings such glee to the heart of a Tennessee fan, you haven’t yet leaned what TTSO is all about;. David and Goliath and poetry.

Perhaps it is generational. However, we may yet live to see the circumstances that create this euphoria again. The joy is the result of losing to your arch nemesis for long enough and because of cheating and underhandedness, (Bear Bryant and the 90’s Bammers and getting away with it) and then triumphing over them for streaky periods. David beat down Goliath. You know we are the good guys.

We last felt it before Saban was hired. In fact it was getting to where we were taking it for granted that we were going to beat them. This is our downfall. Getting to fat and losing our way. In this relationship we cannot be Goliath.

The best football day ever personallly, was when the Vols beat Bryant in 1982. This surpassed the 1998 natty in many ways because of the pain associated with the 11 years of misery and the cocky bandwagon fans who follow Alabama. ( you had to be there) Neyland rocked and so did the volnation. I think part of this is poetry, and it is like David and Goliath. Bama greatest coach ever; Johnny Majors upstart coming home to coach after Pittsburgh Naty; On that day in 1982 top 5 Bama goes down just like old goliiath. Whipped them again next year. Bear didn’t live long after that. Dare I say God rest his soul. Poetry!

Now we Alabama’s native son. Great defensive mind who was noticeably absent from the looks of the loss in 2019 to Clemson. What poetry it will be when we stomp the hated tater diggers. When their own hero leads us to victory, because as he said, he wants us to be feared again!

Last night we saw that Goliath can be beaten. Many Tennesseans can’t recall who we are and only see our weakness and our losses. Our own people have no love for their state, no real patriotism; they look to winners like the dawgs, the tigers and the gimps! They have the hearts of mercenaries and bandwagon riders. But history proves when it is darkest, if you hold on, and if you don’t lose hope, when the dawn comes it is Orange! It is poetry! Then you will know what the third Saturday in October means!

Yeah...but not by Tennessee anytime soon. Sorry to rain on your moral victory parade. The talent/coaching gap is wider than the love child of Rebel Wilson and John Candy.

What I saw last night were two programs dedicated to winning and playing in big games who make Tennessee look like D2 high school ball currently.

I would challenge your statement that "our own people have no love for their state." I think the vast majority loves their Volunteer state. Many of us are fortunate to understand the meaning of the third Saturday in October.

Anyone cheering for Bama over SEC pride trash after getting beat 12 years in a row should have their head examined. I hope this is the beginning of their end. It can be slow and painful, here is to hoping. SEC pride, which sounds a little fruity if you ask me and Bama dominance hasn't done nothing for Tennessee.

Agree that Goliath can indeed be beaten....just not by Tennessee, which is all that matters to me.

This is a terrible analogy. Clemson is not David. More accurate would be Godzilla and Mothra. Predator and Alien. I doubt David (UT) will defeat Goliath for another decade.

This is as happy as I get about a sporting even that does not involve Tennessee winning.

Alabama has slipped before. They lost to Utah in the Sugar Bowl & lost to Auburn a couple of years ago. Yet they still rebounded and won more SECCG & National Championships. Bama slipped but have not fallen.
I would guess that Saban will make some changes to his coaching staff.

Bama getting shredded brings confidence that Bama can be beat and beaten badly when the opposing team shows up prepared and performs.

Did anyone else find it interesting that Clemson got pressure without DL Dexter Lawrence in 3 man DL fronts against Bama OL? Clemson is very good and played at the top of their game.

To me it just proved Bama can be beaten but you have to play without fear, bring your A game and get get some turnovers. They have really good players and are really well coached.Hopefully we can get back it making it a game again.

Does every year. Usually because his assistants take other jobs, no different this time..

Bama is far from done! I used to get excited each & every time that the Patriots struggled but it was far from over.
Am concerned that Obama's struggles are short lived

I don't see Bama slipping very far with the recruiting class they just signed and those they have committed for signing next month. By the way, Clemson has enought talent to beat anyone during the next four years. Both have the Jimmys and Joes to beat the rest of the Teams in the Nation. We may see these two teams playing for the National Championship for the next four years.

For Tennessee to be competitive , they must recruit bigger and better linemen on both sides of the ball. If they don't, they will being playing second fiddle until they can get those players. They next most important position on the team is the QB. I think we have signed a QB who may be able to do the job and definitively believe we have a 2020 commitment who can get the job done. However QBs get hurt and a Championship team need 2-3 Championship quality QBs. Simply put, we are way short on the talent required to compete with the big boys. Some of the holes are beginning to be filled, but the holes are still there. Next year's recruiting class may be the best in a number of years so there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I was really surprised at the poor play of the Bama players and some of the offensive and defensive calls of the Bama coaching staff. In addition, their QB play was the worst I have seen in years. Clemson was clearly better prepared for this game. The attitude of the coaches and players favored Clemson and was noticed in the prekickoff statements of the head coaches. It was an intersting game and the best team won last night.
