Yep. Fromm was great as a freshman and sophomore with Chaney, then stunk it up when Chaney left to come here. Chaney also got Peterman drafted. And made Crompton into a serviceable QB (with Kiffins help). I know Chaneys play calls can seem questionable at times, but I really think it’s our issues at QB that have his hands tied. And I’m not just talking JG. If we had someone that was clearly better, he’d be starting. So it’s the entire position IMO.

It's not new information. We have the Holly Warlick of QBs. He's a great kid, all Vol, no shortage of effort. I hate it for him, but we will _never_ improve on offense until he is done. Like Holly did, we will continue to set new bars for ineptitude. I'm not sure what the point is in playing the guy that gives the best chance to win when we aren't winning. Don't care which other QB it is, but does not make sense not to start playing for the future now.

Chaney is just as awful as JG

Hard to blame Chaney for all of it. Has to run a vanilla offense. JG hasn't developed. Who is in charge of development? Same guy developing the backups that we never see. I think Chaney is a proven winner, wherever he's been. For now it's a chinese fire drill over there. There very well may be a house cleaning after the season.

I think it’s a shame that you may be right. Pruitt will stay and those let go will be looking for a job due to Pruitts decisions.

Oh yeah I agree. That’s who I’d like to see get the nod and just let him lose to make plays with his legs and arm. I was simply saying that overall, the QB room seems to be a problem, not just JG.

When you consistently run the ball on 3rd and long, the OC has absolutely no faith in the QB's ability to complete a 10 yard pass. Pruitt said, "We aren't going to play in fear.", but actions speak louder than words. If you're afraid to throw the ball because of who you have in the backfield, it's time to give the reins to someone else.

We ran the ball on third and long against Bama because teams have been successful doing that against them. I would not want the OC job if I had JG for my QB.
