LOL! If you say so.I don’t understand the premise of this thread, but Spencer is arguably the best college football writer on the planet.
He’s gotten maybe a bit more, uhh, abstract, maybe…? since his close-knit friends/ coworkers and he left SB Nation to do their own thing (or string of things) that operates outside the sphere of influence of any established media behemoth.
But when he was exclusively “Every Day Should be Saturday,” (EDSBS), he was in a class of his own. I can’t remember exactly which piece it was, but he wrote something after one of the National Title games in the past decade or so, and I still consider it the single best piece of college football writing I’ve ever read. I just can’t seem to find it right now.
He’s not for everybody, and that’s okay. But man — he’s a brilliant writer.
I remember "Every Day Should Be Saturday", and I can't say that I ever found what they published to be interesting. At least to me, the material seemed overly self-indulgent. That approach can work great for a charismatic personality like Uncle Lou on a YouTube channel, but it's harder to pull off in print media.I don’t understand the premise of this thread, but Spencer is arguably the best college football writer on the planet.
