I've said it in a different thread, but you can have all the five stars in the country but if your coaching is crap, your team will be crap.
Since a lot of people like to point to SC as a team that has now "surpassed" us, I checked their rankings from 2005-2015, the spurrier decade since that's their best decade in well forever. They only finished once in the top 5 of the SEC, and they still won the East at least once, mainly because Spurrier was a better coach than half of the SECE coaches at the time.
Now look at us the past few years with Jones, top classes, and no division titles in a WORSE SECE than what Spurrier had to go through when they won.
Point is, if the coach isn't worth a damn it don't matter who we have. I think as a staff we have a better complete staff than most in the SECE, it'll be interesting to see what happens with Mullen at UF, and with UGA losing some assistants we'll see if Kirby can pull a Saban and just plug and play any assistant and keep on winning.
I know we all wanted those players but compared to the past few years where we probably never would've even had a hat on those tables it's at least a plus that we were "considered" especially after the year we had.
So let's all just have a pint and wait for this to all blow over.
