Think we have 75,000 @ the game ?

Maybe. Thursday night game against one of the worst teams in the country. Tough to build a crowd with that, even with a coaching debut.

With the push and 'flash' sales that the UTAD has been having this week and last, I would say that is going to drive attendance to somewhere in the 80 to 85k range.

If you ask me it was very smart by the university to do those push sales. Gives the more local (or at least within decent driving distance), casual fan the opportunity to see what Heupel and company are going to be about. If it's the exciting brand of football we expect, then it helps build back that local fan support that UT needs to fill Neyland on game days.

I would think with a new coach, new QB...this would bring a crowd out. With it being a Thursday evening....not sure. The school is making a big push for the purchase of single game tickets (cheap). Students get a free ticket when purchasing a ticket...that sounds like there a plenty left. Who knows...but we're going to find out soon enough! GBO!!!!!

Are we talking butts in seats, or purchased tickets?

Purchased tickets will probably be in the 90s. Butts in seats probably low 80s.

Thursday nite, students that don't care, poor record last 15 years & no visiting fanbase probably equal a small turnout ?

Actual butts in seats............I'll guess around 85,000, which will look like 90,000 when everyone starts to spread out. I live 3 hours away, and everybody I know that lives around here and has season tickets (and there's a bunch) are hyped. They're all going. They're psyched and ready to rumble. Regardless of attendance, I'm predicting an energetic crowd.

If we hit 70k, I'd call that a win. A Thursday night game against a terrible opponent in the middle of the pandemic probably isn't going to draw people out of the woodworks.

LOL, don't have to draw people out of the woodworks to get 70,000.

If you look at the ticketing site, there are a lot of unsold seats. I am saying around 75k actually in the stadium. Thursday nights are tough for Middle Tennessee residents. That is, unless you take a day and a half of vacation, and pick your kid up from school a half day on Thursday. That is my plan.
