Think Phil's A Little Bitter?

:) yes we do!

I corrected myself OK  All I'm thinking that Phil is gone and it's time to move on. Be a basher or lover it is still a waste of time. Like myself,I bet that there is not a poster on here that was not a supporter during his tenure. It was in the last 10 years that we came dissatisfied with the mediocrity. Bashing Fulmer now would be like throwing away my UT collectibles from that era. It would serve no purpose.

Him rattling off his past success and then falling this year isn't any different from a CEO of a major company who has been successful in the past and let the company fail. What happened to Fulmer happens in the real world every day when you don't perform. I bet the CEO of Bear Sterns feels the same way :)

it was not a sell-out and while the vol fans were not outnumbered in the beginning, if you were there at the end it was an embarrassment

As I've said, if you go to many football games, you'll notice only the winning team's fans are in the stadium once the outcome is decided. That wasn't something special just at Neyland.

True. My company's stock has dropped in half over the last year, but our CEO will still get his 55 million:crazy:

We better hope he's not a bitter whiner about his dismissal from UT.

He's going to have a national audience next fall every Saturday morning which would be a perfect platform to tell every kid how miserable it WAS to play at UT.

FYP. I have a feeling the new staff will fix the rest.

Go Vols.

It's worth noting that there are a ton of people who see things as having happened exactly as Phil layed it out, and firmly believe he should still be the coach.

They just don't tend to be VN members...

There is also a group that supports the belief that the holocaust never occurred.

Sour grapes.

I don't know, maybe Phil is bitter, probably is a little, which is somewhat to be expected but I didn't get that from the piece that was posted, just talking about how life (especially his) can change so fast.

Just another thread making much ado about nothing concerning Fulmer.

My goodness, it's a new era, Phil is gone, let it go, let's look to the future and get off Fulmers back and get behind CLK.

Were you at the Alabama game this past year? If you were you had to see the amount of Bama fans in the stands. They may not have had more in the beginning...but if more than 10 people in Bammerland had access to a computer, they could have had their choice of about 8,000 empty seats.

Let's see now, 8,000 empty seats leaves over 92,000 with butts in them. (some obviously had asses). So you are saying over 46,000 Bama fans were there? I find that quite far from accurate. The charge was giving erroneous facts was it not.

This thread just proves that eyes see what a person wants them to see.

It's actually Coastal and Atlantic divisions in the ACC.

I stand corrected.

My point being, and I'm sure you got it, that winning a "division" within a conference is nice, but if that's all you can brag about for the past 10 years.....

Go Vols.

You just proved your own theory about eyes seeing only what they want ...go back and read that same post I had...except actually comprehend what you're reading.

Then report back to me, and tell me what you found.

I guess it's just a difference of opinion. I understand your point about "winning the SEC East", but (a) we didn't "win it" outright...we backed in, and (b) winning a division of a conference is nice, but are we / you / I satisfied with that being the highlight of Fulmer's last ten years?

If that's all Kiffin can manage over the next ten years, will that be okay with you?

It won't be with me.

Go Vols.

You must be related to 5150, both make ludicrous statements and then continue to defend them. I quote you, "And Rex was not wrong...there were times throughout the game where UT fans were greatly outnumbered. Even you can't argue with that.

If you have access to a dictionary and know how to use it, look up throughout. In case that is beyond your capability - 'throughout, 2. From the beginning to the end.'

Go shake your "I'm a big bad dude behind a computer" crap at someone who might actually be impressed.

I'm not defending it in the least. I know what it means.

However, we did represent the East in SEC title game. Does that not mean we won the East or were the best in the East (obviously the best part is 100% not true).

No, it doesn't mean we "won" the East. It means we tied for the East with Georgia (both at 6-2), and the first tie breaker for who goes to the SECCG is head to head competition. The tie breaker only determines who goes to the CG, not who is the divisional champion (which is a very dubious distinction in itself).
