I have surfed this site off and on for the last 3wks. There are COUNTLESS posters on here who want or hint that Butch is not the guy. Well...if you'll take a few moments...close your blow hole and just consider what really happens when a coaching change does happen. (We should know by now).
1. Every SEC school would point to us as a picture of instability to potential recruits.
2. Those of you who think we're loaded with young talent for the "new guy"?...Well you fail to realize that a certain percentage of our current players WILL transfer out. Many of them came here to play for Jones and Co. Sorry..but that's a fact.
3. The national media will have a field day with us.
4. Like it or not...this team IS young and trying like heck to learn how to win big games...and they will.
(It's not like they've got proven veteran players to show them how.)
5. I could go on and on...but I'll save us all the time!
6. Wake up...be patient...and understand the process before you go running off at the mouth.

I'm off the Butch train but I'm not calling for his head either. I'll give him a chance to change my mind.

1. Every school is saying " what has butch done in 3 years? Do you want to play for a coach who will put you in positions to lose games.

2.most came to play for the university of Tennessee. We had tradition before butch and we are a sleeping giant until we awake.

3. They didn't give auburn a hard time firing a national championship coach two years removed.

4. Maybe you should keep going?

Butch deserves the rest of the year for sure but those saying we don't need to consider options if we only get to 6 wins are insane.

Most fans just want Butch to be aggressive the whole game and quit making bad decisions. Do those two things and finish with 7 to 8 wins this year and I think most fans would be happy. However, he has to do it and not just say it. So far I'm not seeing it.

I agree with all of your points except 6
Your "running your mouth" comment is offensive.
If he fails to perform we have a right to voice concerns in a message board.
If he loses to arky, ga, and bama, which he very well may do, then you best be prepared for much more than that.
And appropriately so.
And especially if these losses are do to maturation arrest and failure to improve game management skills.
So how bout you cool the condescension and rather let's all pray he has learned from his previous mistakes and will make the necessary improvement to actually close a game with a win.

Fail me once your fault, fail me twice my fault, fail me a third time and we all deserve a kick in the balls for allowing it to happen!

I'm definitely not calling for a coaching change. Butch IS the process so let it play out. Also though tired of hearing the nonsense, how much younger can we get? I want to see aggressiveness for 4 quarters unless it's a blowout. This year's record and next year's performance will tell the tale. I'm pretty sure Butch's behind is pretty red right now because of all of the national media whacking him. If he is still in a shell after the AR game, then he will get what he deserves....just saying.

Maybe last year the team kinda went through a trial by fire. Maybe this year Butch is going through a trial by fire. Maybe by the end of this season and heading into next we will have both a seasoned team and coach ready to "attack, attack, attack."

For the sake of argument, what do you think changes if we were to have a 6-6 or worse losing season?

I'm calling for a coach that can coach when winning is on the line. BJ, no way.

There'll be no change for a while. Hopefully there won't be a need.

You think we haven't been patient? Lol. As for me and running my mouth, I want a offensive co ordinator. A real one. As it stands right now cbj hasn't proved anything, except recruiting and a really awful offensive scheme. Our scheme is the 13th worse in the sec alone behind Arkansas, and even Arkansas plays to their strengths, win or lose. We don't and have t since day one. It's not youth, or the players. Cbj could change teams with 12 other coaches and staffs and they would beat him with his own team. Especially with 2 years to implement their systems. We need a thread that highlights coaching changes around the ncaa with improvement/regression from that moment.

Current 17 year old kids were BEING BIRTHED the last time UT won a national championship. Who cares about tradition and history if you've sucked since they were old enough to like and understand football?

I don't want a coaching change.

I want our coach to get his head out of his back side during games and make better decisions.

If he can get his game day coaching somewhere in the ball park of his other coaching attributes, then he will be in the running each year for national championships.

1. Every SEC school uses us a a picture of instability to potential recruits. Why do that when they can just point to our dismal record? Or the fact that we'll always get embarrassed against our rivals?
2. Those of you who think we're loaded with young talent for the "new guy"?...Well you fail to realize that a certain percentage of our current players WILL transfer out. Many of them came here to play for Jones and Co. Sorry..but that's a fact. Yeah, like we didn't have anyone transfer out last off season. Didn't we lose as many last off season as we did with the last coaching change?
3. The national media will have a field day with us. Have you read what they're writing about our coach's ineptitude?
4. Like it or not...this team is young and trying like heck to learn how to win big games...and they will.
(It's not like they've got proven veteran players to show them how.) How is making bad decisions in the 4th quarter and choking away every opportunity to win a big game helping them learn to win exactly?
5. I could go on and on...but I'll save us all the time! Thanks!
6. Wake up...be patient...and understand the process before you go running off a the mouth. Unfortunately alot of people understand the process better than you do. The process is - getting beat by rivals when they are down, leads to getting beat by them when they actually progress

What pains me is when I compare Butch to 3rd year coaches in other programs. Many in that league of salary are producing much better results. I want our team to be in that group. Simple as that.
