The first thing we need is a win against CAL in the opener

Then to the Swamp to whip up on the Gators..

If we can do it with 7 recievers or 4, with rotating RB's or Coker as the man, I don't care..

I just want to win..

Great! Two questions 1) Can we beat UF?
2) Will we havwe a BCS national championship type defensive lin where games are won and lost?

I do think our offense will be capable of scoring a lot of points.

We should score about 35 a game...

Our D-Line will be good enough to win a championship, because we know this is an area where a fire needs to be lit under someone's ass, also our O-Line will be much more explosive.

Explosive's what we need, to free up space for Coker

A few weeks ago I was not optimistic about next year, but that is changing.

1. We will have the best seasoned QB in the league.
UK has a good QB but he doesn't scare you plus he
doesn't have the talent around him that say LSU does,
even though they lost Russell they're still in good
shape. Tebow is too young yet, and we may find
that he may be like that great HS QB that FSU had,
he may be better suited for FB.

2. I like the WR's we're bringing in; Vinson and Kenny
may be able to play from day one. With these guys,
and Rogers, our WR's will actually be a lot faster
than the trio we had in 06.
the trio we had in 06.

ainge COULD be great this year. he needs to develop some rhythm w/ his new receivers, and the old ones have to learn to hold onto the ball!

some of those receivers will be our athletes coming in that we have to get the ball in their hands

This reminds me of something I heard the other night on the radio. One of the recruiting tools Urban Pete Carroll are using is playing freshmen... anytime they have an opportunity. The recruit these guys and promise them playing time... somehow. There is no better example of making true on a promise than Tebow and Harvin this year at Florida. Florida had several freshmen play big roles this season, but all Meyer did was put these guys in positions to make plays at the right moments. Tim Tebow just running QB sneaks and Harvin running back kicks or running reverse hand offs... simple plays, yet very little risk. How many times did Tebow throw... maybe 12 times?

Fulmer has to realize that the dynamics have changed. freshmen have to play early, not just to win ball games, but to win over recruits in the future. Fulmer, imo, has been notoriously reluctant to put our "athletes" anf freshmen in positions to make plays. That has to stop immediately...

I think you're correct that playing freshman does help in recruiting. I believe Fulmer starting Ainge/Schaffer was directly related to our good recruiting class after that year. However, it is much easier to do this when the freshman are the best players. It could be argued that Percy Harvin was the best player on UF's offense last year and Tebow was a great short yardage runner. So it's not much of a gamble to play them when they are the best players. Playing freshman does help in recruiting, but winning games is the most important thing. So I hope Fulmer plays the players that give us the best chance to win games regardless of class.
