Things That Make You Suspicious of Someone

Too wet? The Washington rain?

No, we were supposed to be evading captors. If we start a fire it would have been pretty easy to find us. Also, fire was only allowed the first night of training. After the first night they took almost everything from us.

My Grandfather who served in Korea had a funny story about basic training. It was in Biloxi and it was unusually cold and all they had was summer sleeping gear because all of the winter gear was in Korea. He and his ol' HS buddy were scouts and outdoorsmen so they collected old newspapers from all around the base and lined their bivouacs or what have you with them to provide insulation. It took a week but pretty soon when people realized how warm they were newspaper became very scarce.

Sorry to disappoint you, it was the way required to swim for sanitary reasons. Any unmanly behavior would have been dealt with quickly. Most of my swimming was done with boys close to my age, mainly swimming lessons.

Ok, I know I'm old and have been to war a couple of times, but for the last time, I was not in WWI!
