Things may get worse at UT?

We're 2-4 and winless in the SEC. The only way it gets uglier is if we lose to Wyoming.

If we lose to Wyoming then the powers that be have no option in what to do. Winning 13-9 at home against an undermanned No. Ill. team was bad enough.

Dropping games to Vandy and (or) Kentucky would be pretty ugly too. For me anyway.

Ugly doesn't seem that significant when I am almost to the point of gouging out my eyes.

i think we're going to get an idea of how ugly it might get this weekend.

this MSU game, at home, with a likley sparse crowd, after a big loss, before the Bama game, no TV, no pre game hoopla.......just a game to go play because it's on the schedule.

how does this team react under this circumstance? win, and you can maybe extraploate wins against KY and SC, maybe Vandy too. Lose, and a complete collapse could be right around the corner.

We are pretty much at rock bottom...but yes it could get worse. And the sad thing is the only guaranteed win I see left on the schedule is Wyoming, and I see another 13-9 butt-kicking in that one.

I used to think '05 or maybe '88 were rock bottom.

Not anymore. We still haven't found rock bottom, but its eminent. Finishing at the bottom of the SEC should clinch it. I don't even know the last time that happened.

The article said we're 14-12 in our last 26 SEC games. We're actually 14-15 in our last 29.

Here is about as bad it it could get.

Wins over:
Mississippi State
South Carolina
Wyoming
Kentucky
Vandy

Loses to:
Alabama

Bowl win (5 points or less) over so little MAC school and we finish the season 8-5

Mike Hamilton comes out and tell everyone about the great job Fulmer did this season and we get ready for the same crap next year.

Perpetuating the status quo would definitely be bad if not necessarily rock bottom. But yeah, any scenario in which Fulmer gets a raise and extension would be intolerable.

However, I don't see us finishing better than 5-7.

And honestly if Fulmer is gone and a new HC and staff are brought it, it may be a few years to see the benefits. This could be the best season we have the rest of the decade.

This thread is absolutely depressing the heck out of me...I miss the UT teams that played with heart and discipline. Not just a couple players on the team, but the entire team or at least the majority. Don't make me suffer anymore this season VOLS....

Our program is broken, we're just going to have to start from the ground up. Suffering through these times will only make future success that much sweeter.

The silver lining is that we have the resources to complete. We just need a greater leader and recruiter to get us back.

A loss this weekend will lead to a complete collapse and a very possible 3-9 to 4-8 record -- 5-7 at best -- and potentially dead last in the East. I don't know how it could get much worse than that.

Even with a win over MSU, UT would have to win 3 out of 4 against Bama, USC, Vandy and Kentucky (with a win over Wyoming, which is not a given) to "acheive" a 6-6 season. A 2-2 split would be a miracle with the way this team is playing, and 0-4 is very possible.

Yes, fellow Vol fans, it is that bad. This program has sunk all the way to the bottom. The sad thing is that Captain Ahab and the crew still think they have the answers.
