Things just feel different with Pruitt

Do you think Pruitt will ever overlook a cupcake season starter in the future? I have a strong feeling he won't.

I'd say he's learned his lesson. But I also think that was the result of a culture that he's in the process of changing. A coach can't get all rah-rah to pump a team up for every game. Kids see through that when it's a team like Georgia State. At some point, you have to have a culture in which the players take care of business without being "fired up" by coaches. Saban's LSU team lost to UAB his first year and his first Alabama team lost to Monroe. Yes, those were during year 1, while UT/Georgia State was year 2, but that doesn't change the fact that there were culture shifts/rebuilds taking place during all 3 of those inexplicable losses. Further, Saban wasn't a first time head coach at either of those stops, as Pruitt is at Tennessee.

I swear, you guys are the most fickle fan base of all time. Do I really need to go find the threads on here after the first few games? He went from genius, to imbecile, to genius, in 6 weeks.

Don't misunderstand. I think Pruitt is doing a good job and deserves some more time to rebuild the program. I'm just saying the extremes of the Vols fans when it comes to him are absurd from week to week.

Oh we have our goobers no different than any other fanbase.

Muschamp's stock was high after beating UGA.
Kirby was getting ripped for losing to an inferior team.

Since then Kirby has his bunch regrouped and in the playoff mix with an SEC title on the line and Muschamp can't be fired quick enough for most SC fans.

UT has had about the most extreme change in a season as anyone. Some people jumped really quick after the start and it could have resulted in a historic season (on the wrong end). I saw a headline can't remember where, but it said after the BYU game UT had a 5% chance to make a bowl. And unless they lay an egg Saturday they are gonna do that with a game to spare now.

This season has had 2 extremes.

Florida Fans are not immune from these same extremes under the same circumstances. To think different is pompous.

What big games did pruitt lead in a win in 2019? Tenn is great at barely winning games with lower sec teams. Next year with losses on both sides of the ball and with this new found QB guarantano its looking great. Oklahona is a far better team than KY MISSOU OR VANDY. Until pruitt beats Alabama georgia and LSU he hasnt done anything.

What great games did Saban lead in a win in 2019?

He has beaten tenn! Enough said. That is the answer! Until saban has been beaten by pruitt it doesnt matter what he has done. Next year will be ugly and down again.

I was on the fence about Pruitt until the UGA game. After that point it seemed like the entire team really bought into his coaching style. I really questioned if he could somehow manage to get Butch recruits to buy in. He managed to do it. These kids are playing hard for him. You have Kennedy who wants to stay next year to play for him if that tells you anything. So while is he the next coming of Saban? Probably not. Although he seems to be a really good coach who has kids playing hard for him.

No, thank God. I spent 3 years in Birmingham in the seventies in school and except for the loose women I met, I didn't enjoy the state of Alabama that much. Graduated on Saturday and started moving my stuff back the next week.
Ha! I feel you. I hate that state!
GBO!!

Thanksgiving prayer.
Please Dear Lord bless Coach Pruitt, his staff, the players and their families and VN members and all the fans and VFLs.
Please Lord continue to bless Coach Pruitt with the patience to deal with Vol fans. May he prosper and game plan with the best and take this program to great heights and prove to be a Vol legend. Amen.
( Am I going to Hell for asking for football success? )
Nope, that wont send you to Hell...

Go Vols

Nope, it goes further than that. But if you want to look into it and avoid burdening the board with that discussion explore the Prospect org website the topic of sex abuse scandal, specifically next-christian-sex-abuse-scandal. And the Guardian site on the topic of Protestants can no longer dismiss abuse as a Catholic problem.

In a nutshell as someone who had to help deal with the problem in a private school, I know two things. One, conservative groups tend to be the worst offenders. And have policies in place to sweep it under the rug and remove evidence. 2. Dorm supervisors, clergy, and teachers/counselors are frequent perpetrators.
Im sure you are aware, every denomination didn't protest Rome, and are not protestants. The Catholic church was not the first church.
I agree sin is prevalent in every denomination, the Adam nature is alive in all of us and will be until this corruptible puts on incorruption. We can agree, thank the Lord for the grace of God.

You give two examples.? You could have said whatever you wanted and given any positive examples of pruitts tenure here, and you stake your claim of things being different to TWO plays. Those two plays Not nearly as impressive as the other nearly 24 games he’s called times about 70-80 plays per game on either side of the ball. #thehiddenthings

When we first hired him, I mentioned Pruitt struck me as a guy who loves football and deeply cares about kids. I still feel that way about him. If he hadn't lost that damn GA St. game I don't think there would be any doubt about him as the HC.
Head coaches have learning curves as well. GA St. was one of them.
