Wat? Of course you can change pharmacies, including for scheduled substances. What if you moved across town, or to a new town? Probably what he was saying is that if the prescription is at Pharmacy A, you can’t pick it up at Pharmacy B.I hate the other 3 pharmacys in town worse & my Dr says it a law that xanax ( or any other controlled substances cant be transfered ) What did Exxon do to make you hate them![]()

The next time your doctor renews your script, have him/her call it in (or fax, or whatever) to a different pharmacy. If you can find one you don’t hate.

we used to use the small pharmacy with only the one branchWe have a local, small owner pharmacy. It's wonderful, and so is she. Occasionally there's something she doesn't carry and we have to go to Walmart or somewhere, but usually it's no problem.
My own tl;dr:tl;dr
in TN with controlled substances, you can't "transfer" from one pharmacy to another
all the doc has to do (as Exie said) is place the script with another pharmacy
you don't even need to tell the old pharmacy (nor does the doctor) because the database keeps track of the last one to fill it
we went back to paper scripts on all the controlled substances for my wife and I because it gives us more flexibility in terms of where we want to get it filled
I just wish they'd do those more than 30 days at a time
tl;drMy own tl;dr:
Two of my three kids are ADHD and were on amphetamine derivatives from around fifth grade on. Like other controlled drugs, the scripts have to be renewed monthly.
So:
Two kids, each ADHD, each have to notice when they’re down to 7-8 pills.
Then they each have to remember to tell me.
Then I (also ADHD) have to remember to call the doctor to ask that she call it in for each.
Then I have to remember to go pick each prescription up.
When 80% of your thinking is spent on just getting Life done, it makes things complicated.
They have Tiffany on pain management, and it's weird to me. They want it in your system, check that you get it filled. She only takes when she has to, but it's gotta be in her system if they check.tl;dr
Yeah, my wife's pain management plan keeps us counting down from 30 days.
I bought like a five dollar planner (3-year) for nothing but scripts.
We keep up with mom and dad's, too.
It really is a time hog as we age hahahaha
Same here - its mainly because they dont want anyone selling it and I guess there are quite a few that do thatThey have Tiffany on pain management, and it's weird to me.
