Things I'm mad about today

In 1975, Hayden Fry brought the North Texas State Mean Green to Knoxville without 16 first and second string players, including their kicker. They scored twice on Vol turnovers deep in Tennessee territory, including the infamous North Texas handoff, and on a kick return for a total of 21 points.

The listless Vols fumbled 7 times and were intercepted thrice. They score two touchdowns for 14 points. Out of timeouts and inside the red zone on their final desperate drive, with mere seconds on the clock and open receivers in the Endzone, Tennessee's QB threw the ball out of bounds to stop the clock after all remaining time had expired.

I was there to witness this performance.

Yikes.

Yeah, after witnessing the North Texas State fiasco, I absorb the pain of yesterday's disappointment with perspective.

After a day like yesterday, I get mad at people trying to be positive or pretending there's a bright side. There's not. Yesterday sucked worth than a super kick to the nads. Let me grieve, dammit!

The worst part of all of this is not being able to drown my sorrows. No way to dull the pain.

Wyoming and Memphis were pretty bad.

They certainly were, h, but at the time, I had no fear for the direction of our program. Wyoming loss, the biggest sadness, besides the loss, was I knew Coach Fulmer would be gone. Memphis, I was shocked, but Peyton was still here. I thought the program would recover and do what we saw them do. Yesterday was different.

yesterday they werent ranked - if they had been the coverage everywhere would be much worse -- no major sports outlets are making much of a big deal about as I thought they would -- guess we will see what that gremlin Finebaum says pretty soon

I dread going to work tonight -- most there dont give 2 cents about CFB but they know I am the biggest Vols fan around

I had to go into work this morning. I’m the only Vol fan there. I wear my vol apron, that my granddaughter got me for Christmas last year, proudly. I won’t even relay the comments that were directed to me today.

I won’t.
