Things I'm mad about today

Oh damn, you guys had to cancel a vacation? I’m so sorry. One thing on top of another. 😟

Its OK. We're gonna do a long weekend in Chattanooga instead (was going to Piegon Forge). Haven't been there in forever. Son has tourney in Arkansas this weekend so may do some hiking (maybe someone will trigger @Orange Sunset ) Instead, we're going to Vegas in November. Still going to do South FL in December.

Of course, these plans change if any of us come back positive after our brain swabs today.

Son's brain swab came back negative (he got his test facilitated by his HS athletic department- Not even going there on how he got his results first). Still awaiting our results.

Son is pissed he has to go to school in person tomorrow although I won't make him until we get our results.

Did you have the full roto-rooter or just the mid-nasal?

My daughter tested my grandson yesterday (after I’d babysat in the morning…) Rapid test negative, and they’re doing the other as well for a baseline or something. (She’s 7 months pregnant and doesn’t need to get Covid.) Apparently doing (giving) the test is easier when the victim patient is strapped in a car seat.

He has the sniffles but later started coughing. Probably just the pre-school cruds, but that includes the Big Crud these days.

Well of course they did. Insurance companies should be included in the RICO Act. When you’re paying them everybody is best friends. When you file a claim they try everything they can think of to keep from paying it.

Several years ago I had a large tumor on my leg. You could see it from far away. Insurance denied my Primary Dr’s request for an MRI. He sent me to an oncologist who couldn’t believe they turned it down. He got it approved in no uncertain terms.

4 years ago, spouse had lump in her breast detected through mammogram/breast MRI. Physician wanted to do biopsy to rule out a phyllodes tumor. Insurance denied it since they thought it was a fibroadenoma (benign) and didn't deem it medically necessary and denied it on peer to peer discussion since phyllodes tumors are rare. We just went ahead and paid for biopsy out of pocket and ultimately turns out it was a malignant phyllodes tumor.

Turns out they tried to pull the same sh-t this year too and deny biopsy and breast MRI. Thankfully, the insurance doctor did not deny on peer to peer discussion this year.

Edit - still got vericose veins in one leg that aren't deemed a "medical necessity"

Swab was up there pretty good but not as bad as I thought it'd be: We had the close contact with the COVID positive house guess. Daughter was fine and showed no ill impacts. Son was a little sluggish yesterday but a football game Fri night plus 4 soccer games over the weekend might have caused that (plus video gaming Sun night). I was just a little sluggish and was a little nauseous/slight fever. I'm feeling better today and leaning towards maybe just a bad meal. Had some sniffles/sneezes but nothing abnormal for late September. Spouse had same symptoms as me but worse on the respiratory stuff.

Should find out tomorrow.

Per the brain swab, do not have COVID.

Appears the spouse's cousin from the other day (the one who stopped by that wasn't feeling well) may be headed to hospital since her oxygen levels have dropped some today.
Glad no COVID for you. Low blood oxygen levels are a very bad sign for lots of diseases.
