Things I'm mad about today

Unhappy about, anyway.

Good news, bad news. I don’t have macular degeneration (an eye disease.) I do have this, in both eyes:

Vitreomacular Traction Syndrome - The American Society of Retina Specialists

I have an appointment with a Retina Guy on 9/17 to see if I’ll need surgery or what.

In the good-bad-good news department, if they can control this new thing, it will be fixed for good, whereas macular degeneration usually results (after some degree of time) in central vision blindness and can’t be treated. So at least I don’t have to think about that.

Good luck Exie. Staying away from anything that has degeneration in it always sounds good.

I have weird spots on one of my eyes. They were partially removed a number of years ago by actually cutting them out. I was fortunate they were not cancerous, but it is something I have to keep an eye on, no pun intended. Had to go for checkups every couple of months for a few years.

So, I don’t know type until 9/17, at least that’s what I read. I know about macular degeneration, and we’re not there.

Glad you don't have macular degeneration! That's awful stuff.

Hoping for the best on 9/17.
Thanks everyone. It’s a weird feeling to have tried to adjust to some sort of future for almost six months, only to find that it was the wrong future. 🤪

Toes keep curling though at the thought of retinal surgery or needles in the eye. 🤮

Don’t worry about it, scalpel in the eye is not as bad as it sounds.

Not to freak you out, but when Tiffany first started having problems from lupus it was her eye. The glands or something was swelling, and it would swell her eye shut. They did a couple of procedures, but it didn't help. One day they wanted to draw fluid from the back of her eye, and she laid there while they stuck a needle (no numbing) into her eye. I told the Dr he better thank God it was her, cause me and him would have been fighting if he came at my eyes with that 🤣

Oy!

Still able to blink, thank the Lord.

I did Lasik. That was the surface of the eye, and I was a happy Valium customer for that one. Not thrilled at the thought of back-of-eyeball stuff. 😫

I wasn’t trying to be flippant. I was freaked out about it, but is was all good. I did have a big ‘bubble’ pop up on my eye, but it just looked freaky, didn’t hurt.

I think this is great news Exie! No Macular Degeneration! You can kick the other one's butt! I believe you got this! MD scares me to death.

Sorry to hear this news. My wife is an optometrist, so if you have questions I'm happy to run it by her.
