Things getting ugly at Ole Miss

Lane is morally suspect to say the least. He is self-absorbed. I wouldn't trust him to tell me the correct time. I wouldn't want him back at UT. I don't like him.

However,.....

He knows offensive football. He is a great QB coach. He knows his offensive "X & Os". Great in game manager / scheme adjuster. Design and dial up plays with the best of them. Those are facts and as long as those are facts, he'll keep getting paid huge bucks.

If LSU throws a steamer-trunk of NIL money at him, I suspect LSU will be in the "final four" by 2028 (perhaps 2027).

Birds of a feather....

I'm sure his future recruits and players will be outstanding citizens. I never had a problem with Kiffin at UT until he hired Orgeron - then I realized that he had no scruples. I was glad when he left tbh.

Because we have a small minority of fans who think Kiffin is the best thing to happen since sliced bread.

Reality is, he’s not changed nor grew up to a better person. He’s the same man child that left Tennessee high & dry for his “dream” job, which I’m assuming LSU is his “dream” job as well. Hell he’s probably had multiple dream jobs since he’s been alive.

His worshippers refuse to believe it and calls anybody out that sees right through his BS.

Might as well call it a cult.
I wouldn't call it a cult, but I get your point. What saddens me, and it isn't a Kiffin-centric issue is that no one wants to be in the same club anymore as The General/Bear/Saban... They all want to get paid. The aforementioned guys are immortal... legends. Kiffin is just another coach.

I just hope he can afford to eat.

This is all it is anymore:

While I agree with your general sentiment-

Let's look at things from a bit of a different angle shall we-

Bear bolted from KY and left them with a mess
70 years later and they are still a mess

Saban was great coach. Anybody here want to claim he didn't break every rule he could conceivably get away with?

In the year 2025, if the sitting HC at UT took a leave of absence for a military campaign-half the fanbase and population as a whole would support what we are fighting against. There would be cries for him to be fired for crimes against humanity.

I really doubt you are ever going to see a coach stay in the same place for 30-40 years anymore. Down seasons are a fact of life. The inclination these days is to move along at the first sign of trouble.

Look at Mike Gundy. Has been associated with OK St football in some form or fashion continuously since he was 18. Now he's over 50. He's a man. A few down years. Bye.

That is some poorly worded MAGA shizzle right there. Likely your thought process is equally convoluted. Just can’t keep it in the PF, can you? 🙄

And that’s relevant to this convo how?
See post above. How Is it not relevant when talking about safety in cities. Pretty much saying if I have to spell it out. Athens Ga doesn’t seem safe but hasn’t hurt their chances of winning. Not about to pull up all the bulldog players and their 100+ mph on roads but figured it a safety thing when comparing crime rates of cities. Won’t take much homework to check it out your self if your looking for relevance r/t football and winning. Or the young GA student running on campus that was murdered not to long ago.

I’m referencing where one would want to raise a family and live. You think towns are “unsafe” cause 10 dudes drive too fast? I care more about being robbed and/or murdered vs. how fast college kids drive.

FWIW, if this is a reference or knock based on my username, I’m in Athens, AL not GA. Also Athens, AL or Athens, GA >>>> Baton Rouge.

Yea never even realized your username. My comment has nothing to do with your username.

Speaking of ugly, I saw a tidbit this morning that said Lane claims that an Ole Miss fan tried to run him off the road. Wait till he comes back to Oxford next year. Better be wearing a helmet.
