Things built, torn down and other projects.(Pictures)

OK. I've never installed a T&G ceiling, but I am doing one as part of my project of finishing a portion of my basement for a man cave.
Dumb question:

I have a 18ga brad nailer that will shoot 1 1/4" nails. I plan to blind nail the toungues using 5/8 pine T&G. So using my Jethro Bodine cipherin, I reckon I would be shooting thru about 3/8" of T&G and 7/8" of ceiling joist. If I shoot 2 nails at each joist in a "V" pattern, is that good enough or do I need to get another nailgun and shoot longer 16ga nails?

Code is 18 ga crown stapler 45deg through the toung.
A 16 ga or 15 ga finish nailer will do fine I would not recommend the brad nailer.(use 2in whatever you decide)
Don’t need the v pattern unless you just want to. The nail through the toung holds up the next groove just fine.
I’ll send a picture of the ceiling in the she shed when I get home.

Hey guys been away for a while now. Hope everyone is good. After last year, had to do something positive for my mental health so, I went to school. HVAC SCHOOL I don’t know why other than I needed to immerse myself in something I knew nothing about. I had always wanted to move our HVAC unit out of the middle of the house so that’s what I’ve done. I put in new ductwork last week broke my hand in the process lol I’ll post pictures. Learning how to do metal work has been fun, but my hands are cut all the pieces.
