I'm seeing that the TD shouldn't have counted anyway because while pushing is legal, pulling is not and that Fant helped Wright move forward. So they should've flagged them.
The only thing is you can't tell for sure that Fant kept Wright from moving backwards/being stopped as he was driving his legs AND it was the stretching of the hand that advanced.
What is your opinion of what should've been called?

I think the Vols got bent over and done dry

Rule is clear; you grab a player and pull it’s a 5 yard penalty. We were lucky to have such a bad crew and the flag wasn’t thrown,

If that doesn’t typify the rules these days. Pushing is legal but pulling is not lol

I remember that Fant was trying to pull the ball out of his hand, so that he (Fant) could make the touchdown. That wouldn't count as pulling HIM. I think it was a touchdown all the way.

All that is just after-the-fact B.S. "refs" taking up for other B.S. "refs." If that were the case, where was the flag? Same place as the whistle, huh? Trying really hard to not attribute malice to incompetence, but I gotta trust my eyes on this one.

That rule was changed several years ago, I do believe.
Fant's move was legal in the past it would not have been.

I see it every game its never called and they didnt call it this time either or even hint at it . But you can bet they will use that as a reason now.

Runner got hit in the backfield. He fought hard, but didn't make it.
The major weakness in goal line /short yardage offense . Happened on a regular basis this season, plus’s O line penalties in same situations

Shouldn’t have been that much penetration to begin with. They had the jumbo package in with one or maybe two DLinemen in the backfield to block for wright and still got stood up in the backfield. And yes he did score

I have but it was 30 yrs ago by a Tennessee lineman pulled a player across the goal line, but the I truly believe the rule was changed.
At one point Pushing was also illegal. Watch NFL games they pull all the time...

It wasn’t a good play call IMO. Purdue won most of the critical short yardage downs earlier in the game. Tenn doesn’t have a power back. Hell, don’t have one over 185lbs that wants to play evidently. I would have gone on the edge every down after getting the first 4th down conversion in OT.
