They are starting JG after the bye... (this week's depth chart)

I am not encumbered with any college sports experience, but, I am just wondering if you have a player who hasn't put out his best in practice and you put him into a game for a few sets, would it/could it wet his appetite to work harder in said practices in order to get back in the game.

What group has improved as a whole? There has been some improvement in spots at linebacker, and defensive back. Offensive line may have more "talent" but their play hasn't improved significantly and defensive line play has been very poor. Overall, qb, rb, and wr has been very average; safety has been atrocious and tight end is non existent.

What a sick joke this program has become
Just tells me Bailey is not ready yet. JG will have a short leash. My guess is Maurer will be next in line if JG lays another egg. Hope JG balls out, but not expecting it. I think there's a better than 50% chance JG will be pulled during the Arky game and if Maurer performs well, he'll be the QB for the rest of the season.

Don't put that much stock into this. We will still see adjustments around most every position.

Just sadly, will have to see JG out there once again.

Our only hope is he gets pulled early. And I hope Maurer is even more ready so if he gets out there he keeps it and hangs on for dear life for the rest of the year.

Worst case scenario he plays Missouri or USCjr well and we win, to keep Maurer and Bailey further down the bench, only to have him come out there and costs us in a really stupid way again against A&M.

I much rather take a loss with true freshman HB and see what he can do than to take a loss with JG having being a RS Senior. If we are going to rebuild, have to start with the QB we recruited and give him a modified play call system.
Seriously doubt Bailey is ready. If you do start him and he takes the job, you probably have 2 QB's to start the '21 season, because the others will be gone (that's assuming Salter will honor his commitment). That could be a real disaster and something you have to consider if you're calling the shots.

Could be gamesmanship...could be fact. I'll wait to see who comes out with the offense on the first possession.

In all honesty, I've seen all of JG in a UT uniform that I can stomach. I love UT Football, but I simply cannot watch them any more with him on the field. If that makes me a "NegaVol" or a fair-weather fan, then so be it. I'm not driving down to the railroad station and paying good money to get in, or tuning the TV to the right channel just to watch a train wreck that I know is going to happen. At this point, his margin for error is zero, and there's no chance he gets through the next 5 games without reverting to form at some point, and most likely at a critical point in the game.

JG has been and remains a mind-boggling offense killer for the large majority of his on-field time. His record speaks for itself, and at this point it is what it is. So if he's in, then I'm out. I just simply cannot watch him anymore.

Go Vols.

I can overlook some of the mistakes being made on defense due to the young guys we have playing. Communication is key on the back end of the defense. It is one thing when you have a Freshman plugging a spot beside an experienced player but when you have several young guys, there are going to be mistakes made. Lining up wrong, not understanding your assignment for that play. A big play can happen when just one person makes an error. The biggest thing is once a mistake is made it causes doubt. Doubt causes you to play slower because you are thinking instead of just playing. This will be fixed with time. The O line play is not where it should be. I think some of that comes from the poor QB play. I know the line play has a lot to do with how the QB looks and if the Receivers can't get separation it is hard to complete a pass. But, JG has had more chances than any QB that I can remember. He is not the solution to the problem. Pruitt needs to make a change at QB and see how the team responds. JMHO

After the second interception against Kentucky you could see the body language of the players on the field and it was obvious what they must have been feeling. Even Trey Smith admitted that he just stood there when he should have stayed in the play. I don't believe, despite what they say, that they have any faith in JG. And I don't have a lot of faith that they'll play the way they need to as long as they see Pruitt continuing to send JG out there. We could wait until he fumbles again or throws another interception and then make a change, but why bother? At this point, what more do we really need to see?
Effort

Over your head again. They don’t care about a printed chart because they already know what depth they are in a given week. They do not need to see it on paper.
Whatever. You should put me on ignore today, since I've ruffled your feathers so easily. Since you're so convinced your opinion is correct, I'm assuming you've played and/or coached a collegiate sport

I played football a long time ago. Everyone knew where they were on the depth chart. We didn’t need a printed depth chart. BTW, I made a statement and you are the one who objected to my opinion.

Our defense has regressed because our offense is last in the conference in 3rd down efficiency. JG has got to go!

Maybe. We shall see. I guess it’s JGs fault that we can’t defend slants, can’t tackle really well, can’t defend the middle of the field or generate a pass rush.

Just blame JG for everything 🙄🙄

OK. Lets move on. I know exactly what you're saying and I agree for the most part. Where did you play?
