I feel sorry for them. They're just trying to do what all of us do and provide for their families. It's not their fault they were born in West Virginia and want to stay home.

It is not their fault that they were born where they were born.

It is their fault that they stay there, unemployed, when there are lots of jobs available elsewhere.

If they wanted to stay home they wouldn't be in Pennsylvania and if they wanted to provide for their families McDonalds and Wal-Mart are hiring. Make them work for their food stamps/welfare and drug test them.

There are some cruel people in Volnation. I hope some day you folks don't have to decide where to live because your government decided your product isn't environmentally PC while you drive around in an electric car powered by coal.

Not everyone wants to live in a liberal utopia. Some people are just happy to live in middle America.

I live in Williamson County. Hardly a liberal utopia.

It's not like WV is the only rural area in the world. Don't try and excuse them being stubborn fools and screwing over their families in the process.

I'm not excusing anything. They own the right to live wherever they please, just as you and I do.
For whatever reason you seem to think they should abandon their communities and move to the megalopolis for a dollar. I'm glad they don't.

Where did I say they should move to a big city? I said they simply need to relocate if it means taking care of their families.

You buzzed or something?

Agree. In this thread you clearly see how the idiot liberals think. Its sad. Some people have this delusion that if where you live isnt working out, then just move and everything will be peachy. In a perfect world, that would work. But reality is far from perfect. Also, I would say many of those coal miners have been there thier whole lives. Maybe their families and kin have been there for generations. Thats not easy for some to just move away from.

Obama destroyed the coal industry. Now Trump is tryong to restore it. Unfortunately, thats going to take some time. I feel sorry for these miners and their families.

Of course they have that right. They also have to live with the fact that their job prospects suck. Can't have your cake and eat it too. However I agree making fun of these people is distasteful.

Even if coal made a huge comeback it wouldn't help that many people. Mountain top removal, automation and trucks bigger than houses have greatly reduced the demand for miners and manpower. A handful of owners and managers would do quite well though.

Trump fed them a line of s*** and they ate it up. Not only them, go rural Tennessee and see what he's done for them. Visit Perry, Hickman, Wayne, Lawrence, and Lewis counties where Trump won 80% of the vote and ask how they're doing.

Never said it was easy, sweetheart.

This isn't some liberal train of thought. It's ****ing logic. If there is no work for your field in your town (and it looks to remain that way for a while), the logical step is to relocate for work. Millions of families do it every year. Sure, I guess it sucks to leave the small town you and your family never thought of leaving prior, but life isn't always easy and fair.

Now, grab a tissue, and stop crying.
