Out of these five does anyone believe we will beat any of them?Florida,Georiga,Auburn,Bama an South Carolina,I think we have a better chance beating Florida because its at Neyland and we will be 2-1 going in.In all honestly I believe Florida and South Carolina most realistic chance! If by chance we beat one of them I believe we will be Bowl bound.

Florida could be an ugly game, but IMO we have maybe a 1 in 4 chance of winning that one. We don't beat any of the next three if we play them 20 times. SC is then away, and I'd say maybe 1 in 10 chance there.

Given our recent history with Florida, I'll never understand why people believe that the game being held in Neyland has a tangible effect on the team...

I expect we will get better each week. I don’t rule out winning any game ever. I’ve seen too much craziness with college football to even write off any game.

We do have a long way to go, but I’m thinking our players still have some fire in their bellies to put in the work it will take to get better and win some of those games.

Right now FL is ALL that matters. It’s gonna take different personnel combinations and everything we’ve got just to be competitive. We’ve got to pull out all the stops in Pruitt’s home SEC debut. This is our SEC championship game. Win this then we’re on the right road moving forward. Play the same personnel at all positions as we did vs WVA and we’re done. We don’t have the answers yet it’s Pruitt’s job to find them over the next 2 games

The bookends are our best shots. I think we get one of them. Probably not both, though that would be nice.

7 of those games were so close that if we had superior coaching, we would have won them. 2017, 2015, 2014, 2006, 2000, 1999 & 1996.... We have to win the close games against Florida and then we will have a fighting chance to win the SEC East every year.

Personally I think the 5 games that matter most are

Florida
South Carolina
Kentucky
Missouri
Vanderbilt

I say this because if Tennessee can pick up 3 out of these 5 they most likely go to a bowl............and that should be the high side goal for the season.

Of the ones you mentioned I think Florida would be the best chance for Tennessee to pick up a win (at this point, not knowing how better or worse Tennessee will be or other teams will be).

I dont see us winning any of those 5. Love your optimism though.

I know people put a ton of stock in what happened last year and the years before but the real fact is that the 2018 Vols have never played the 2018 Gators.
I can only hope and pray is that is the way the players and coaches see it as well and look forward not backward

Fla and South Carolina...maybe GA, but that hinges on the Fla game. Remember football is a game of momentum

Coaches gonna say that all games are important, but I assure you we'll have a full max-out effort by all to win Florida game...it's in Neyland, so that's at least a positive more than if it were in FL. We can win this game. We won't be favored, and UF could very well slightly over look us...they have #18 MST the following week, and #11 LSU after that. A dog backed in the corner can be dangerous...that's about where we are...and what we need to act like.

UF and SC are the most likely, meaning they are remotely possible. SC is tough because of where it falls on the schedule. On paper UF is more likely. But that has never stopped us from blowing it in the past. I think we have to win one of them to make a bowl unfortunately. The Missouri game will probably look a lot like WV. It's going to be a long year.

How about we win all 5!

Gotta beat Florida. Not that anyone cares or should, but my attitude changes with a loss to Florida.

Wow, you have alot more faith than I do. I don't even consider a maybe for UGA with all the talent they have. A punchers chance but that's vs anybody. Auburn front 7 will kill our line, Bama well, is Bama.

I say UF or USCjr will be our best chance though.

We both have new coaching staffs. What tangible effect does history have on the outcome? None.

It’s baffles me the luck that Florida has had almost every season against us. We have lost several when I thought we was the better team and lost several being too tight or lady luck on Florida side. In 1993 I believe we played too tight and had better talent, 95 had a 31-14 lead late in second half only for Graham to fumble game away and Chavis to play prevent defense, 97 we was better but blew it, 99 Jamal Runs the wrong way and Alex Brown amazing knew the snap count better than us, 2000 the no catch game, 2002 we fumble ball to them when Clausen could not get a clean snap in down pour, 2005 our defense dominated them only for our offense to be anemic, 06 we beat them if not for BS roughing QB play that was a touch at best, 2015 our defense gave them game on late late in 4th quarter leading by 13 only to lose by prevent defense in last 5 minutes, 2017 prevent defense on last play that was total garbage defense. That’s 10 games that we had our chance but blew it, Florida had a few favorable call or we just had laid an egg altogether. Every year I think we have a chance but some how we play too tight and we are our own worst enemies. I wished we played with same demeanor as we play Georgia loose and having fun instead of fearing something bad is going to happen and being nervous through out the game. Hopefully Pruitt can help our misfortune vs Florida.

If we beat either FL or SC we can likely end up going to a bowl and maybe have a shot at 7-5. I think 6-6 is much more likely even if we beat FL though. We don't know anything about FL yet, but we will find out a little more when they play KY this weekend. If we can beat FL, I still think we likely lose the rest of those five games. SC has a bye week to prepare for us and it will be rough at their stadium. If we make it to November 3-5, we at least get Charlotte, KY, and Mizzou at home. Vandy's stadium is never a factor, fortunately. Beat Charlotte, then win 2 out of the last 3 games, and we can do it.
