These coaches are morons and that's being nice

Get a brain, morans !

why don't you come up with something interesting to say to back up your point.

Food for thought: its better to stay silent and be thought a fool than to "post" and remove all doubt.

Let's hear your reasoning for your position if you have the "brain Power" for it. Also its "moron" unless you Tennessee mullets call it "morans". All you do is attack with retarded one liners.

IMO..its the DC fault. Its basic to know how many people are on the field. As what some previous posters have pointed out. If its not him he should have a position coach counting before every play. Thats how we did it when I was in college. a college should not lose a game based on this bone head mistake.

He is responsible. Maybe (or not) you have managed a group of people doing something complex or spread over a large area? Even when you don't know someone has done something... even when they do something you've taught them not to do or failed to do something you've taught them to do... YOU are still responsible.

In 3 years when DD's future at UT is being evaluated good or bad... no one including DD will care whose fault this was. It will simply be another building block on a budding career or else another hole in a sinking ship.

That said... the post game comments make it fairly clear that a call was made, LSU changed personnel, UT changed their call, and under the pressure of that situation some guys became confused over the call.

When a player group is called, ALL of the players need to be personally responsible for getting on or off the field.... and if they mess up? Where does DD go for players who won't mess up worse? They aren't on this team right now.

I'm no on board with the "blame Dooley for everything no matter what" crowd. I also don't like making absolute statements about who's fault it was.

Therefore I can get on board with this assessment. Can we move on now?

GBO! Beat that dawgie azz!

Yes it is... without some pretty good coaching, UT would not have been one blunder away... they would have been about 40 points away.
Oh I agree. While there were a couple of calls I didn't understand, I thought the overall gameplan was solid, and the team was focused and ready to play. I just can't get over that substitution foul. It stings like you know what.

Right now I'd say it's a good learning experience. If they can get it corrected no one will care I agree. If it becomes a pattern, the way LSU has a problem with clock management, then it is a major problem.

I understand why people would go back and wish the a QB sneak on the 4th and 1 call, but at the end of the day, why the hell would you not want to put the ball in your RB's hands that had piled up over 100 yards rushing against the best defense in the SEC? You give me the odds that he will get at least 1 yard and I'll take that bet any day and twice on Sunday. You give the ball to your workhorse, not your "already been sacked 234809238 times" QB.

In all honesty, you should be able to tell the defense what play you are running and still be able to gain 1 yard. No need to do anything fancy. LSU just beat us on that play, but SJT is correct, as tough as this loss is, it was good coaching and great execution by our players that put us in this position to be angry and frustrated

It was 4th and inches. I'd rather take the chance that the qb can take the snap and fall foward behind the center for a few inches than to risk handing the ball off behind the line, and letting their dline get the penetration to drop him for a loss, which is exactly what happened.

The bottom line is this simple.

LSU lost the game, but UT gave it back to them by not doing the most basic task, counting.

I had been thinking that I don't want to be too critical at such an early juncture in the Dooley tenure, but that was a stunning example of incompetence.

This is why he was at LT. We settled for any coach in America that would take the job and now we are paying the price. 2 and 10 until he leaves and we can get someone that is not in over their head. 3rd and wilcox is going to make UT the laughing stock of the SEC.

It's a good thing no one ever said "That's why he's at toledo" about Saban, or "That's why he's at Bowling Green" about Meyer.... Do you think good coaches just automatically become head coahces of BCS schools? There are rational arguments out there to cite Dooley as not being SEC material, but your argument certainly isn't one of them.

Thanks coach.:hi:

The whole team, coaching staff and players, made a mistake. It happens. Les Miles, who has a championship ring mind you, didn't have a play called and then tried to substitute. Its no wonder that the Vols were confused, who in their right mind would have tried that? I think we have a team that is very, very light on experience and talent- but that has a ton of heart and are backed by solid coaching (save a few errors), who showed up and could-of (and should-of) won. LSU won because they out-talented us, not because they out-coached us.
