The Volnation Christmas tradition. Secret booster meetings. Click bait “journalists” stirring up the gullible. MITBeaver being visited by the Ghost of Christmas Past (Jon Gruden) and shown the future. We will hear something Monday. The Firers and Freezers went right down the rat hole. The only thing missing was the stakeouts at the airport.
For some of them this the third time. At least it only lasted a week.

I still have faith brother. UT will come to their senses and grovel at Lord Freezes feet. Only then will he agree to restore us to our former glory.

What about Freeze as OC and Gruden as HC? MIT just broke that there’s a Grumor that the Raiders are letting Gruden go.

So I'm not sure what the purpose of your post is, is it to tell us you follow MIT around hanging on every word he says? Are you a fanboy? Your obsession with Pruitt is borderline stage 5 clinger status, it's actually gross

It occurs to me that I cannot possibly be a fan of the same team as some of the people on this board. Our thoughts on the direction of the program, who to be loyal to, and how to treat fellow Vols is so divergent that it seems impossible we ultimately want the same outcome.

Joking and debating with each other is one thing. Call-out threads for a segment of the fanbase that simply disagrees with you is something totally different. If rubbing peoples noses in how dysfunctional our program is, like a puppy that messed on the new rug, is your thing than we have very little common ground as fans.

I've resigned myself that UT is now about the almighty dollar. Even under heavy, voicetorous pressure they just clam up, lock themselves in their offices and convince themselves they are doing a great job. The TV revenue will keep coming, merchandise will be sold, and enough fans will fill the stadium to keep them fat and happy........after being a diligent fan from about age 7/8 during the Andy Kelly days, I've pretty much resigned myself to the Titans, basketball, and Preds.....and yes, it pains me to say it.

Are you serious? Please tell me you’re serious!? I knew there was a reason Gruden didn’t sell his land in East TN. The prodigal son returns!

In all seriousness though. Pruitts sucks and Freeze would walk through hell to be the coach at UT. He’s the guy we need.

I, for one, am rally glad that 2020, the year from hell, will be over 11 days. We need to chill out, renew our approach to what we need to do in the future, and take a month off to let things settle down. I will have a nice scotch and let the world go by until I can get my COVID shot. Things will get better, because they can not get much worse unless we continue to try to solve what our University needs to solve. Marry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Some just get emotionally attached to any coach that walks through the door and truth be told all these posters who talk down about Freeze are the same ones who will line up to get his autograph at the spring game ( if he comes ) and they'll continue their long history of coach worship

He thinks he is “smarter” than everyone else but his continued defense of all things Pruitt negates anything he attempts to say that has to do with football

I know...but this is deeper than that. It's really been eye-opening how some people are willing to treat others about a differing opinion. It probably has more to do with the state of our society than the football program, and it is sad to see.

I love a good online scrap and debate. I'll make jabs. But ultimately I like everybody here because whether we realize it or not, we want the same thing. Some people just want to be right and let others know it however.

I’m not a Pruitt any other coach fan (well maybe Leech). This year has sucked. Coaching sucked at times. The thing that gives me hope is the roster that is being put together in Knoxville. The Jimmies and the Joes beat the X’s and the O’s.

Absolutely couldn't agree with you more on this statement. I joined this board recently to partake in discussions and I am amazed at the discourse towards each other, especially when people disagree but supposedly are Vol fans. I completely believe it is healthy to get differing views and opinions, but we all must know when to stop and not cross that line.

Not if the development and scheme doesn't match.

We've not seen any indication that development and scheme are anywhere on Pruitt's radar, and with diminishing results on the field you get diminishing results on the recruiting trail....which we are starting to see.

Pruitt's recruiting prowess is somewhat overblown IMO. So far he's recruited middle of the pack in the SEC consistently, just like everyone else who has been here has done. 4th-8th in the league is about where we historically land, and he's done no better. You may like the way the players "look" better than what we have had before, but so far it's not showing up on the field. Good thing for you Pruitt likely gets another year or two to try and remedy the results.

The anonymity makes many far bolder than they would be in person. It's the social media paradigm.

And there are those who are just as emotional about hating every coach the moment he does live up to their expectations. The same people who are swooning over Freeze will be calling for his head in two years. We really need to stop this insane cycle of firing and hirings. For good or bad be patient and let things play out

In the real world, the almighty dollar is how you keep score.
The UT administration understands this.
Even if you and I don't like it.

Well we are starting to see some of that young talent pan out so someone is doing something right. And I don’t care where we’re ranked in recruiting, I’m looking at the type of player their bringing in. The roster is being transformed.
