There is another big fish (running back) in the pond!

Like I said in the Slow day thread..... Fant or Milton as Wildcat QB for short yardage. Keeps some hits off Small and Wright.
Outside runs, use more jet sweeps with Calloway/Holiday/Squirrel

Manufacture carries and yards where you need to

Get up big on the OOC opponents, and let the freshmen RB's do most of the lifting in those games once we are up (play almost all the 2nd half).

Why would we take out our QB to put in a lesser runner who doesn't throw as well (Milton)?

Give Miles Campbell a few carries and let Fant block and catch some passes in my opinion.

Think about this for a second. We run a hurry up offense right. So we don't sub for short yardage situations. The running back in the game at that time will run the ball. The team will not substitute on 3rd and one to put in another back because it will slow down the pace. Has anyone thought of this?

You're not wrong, but the areas of improvement drastically needed from last season O to this season, as many have stated, is Clock Management (to allow our defense to rest some), and short yardage...... If that means in SOME games (especially games we are winning), we need to slow down, change out personnel, etc.. We should. Not saying this is an every game scenario, but looking at Micro goals this season is keeping Small and Wright as healthy as possible all season long. One fewer hit in a short yardage situation is 1 few chance of getting injured.
Same as why I dont always think Hooker should run short yardage inside runs either. Not that he isnt capable, just reduces abuse on a body that takes alot of hits during pass sets and designed runs.

Games to consider my suggestions would be Ball St, Akron, UT Martin, Vandy, Mizzou (possibly), and maybe Pitt. Keep the impact players as fresh and healthy as possible for the season to perform in those games where we cannot afford to lose them, like UGA and Bama.

What? He's great with the ball and is expected to run even more this season. WTF are you talking about?

Dude, chill. Go get some fresh air or something. It was a joke. " Hendon is going to be a do it all, Heisman caliber player for us.... just give him the ball.... "

Anybody but Milton, I've seen enough of his scared to get hit donkey to last me a lifetime already.

I hear you but coaches are stubborn I wouldn't expect him to change his ways

I don't think it would be a bad Idea to take him offer him a redshirt and hope nobody goes down where he is forced on the field. It also wouldn't hurt to have another veteran guy familiar with the play book next year. I think alot of you guys are underestimating how tall a task it is to ask freshman to perform pass pro in the sec.

I really don't like hendon running the ball tbh it gives me anxiety. The guy is just too important.

He’s better than Dobbs at throwing the ball, but he is somewhat slower than Dobbs…which means his likelihood of getting hit hard goes way up when he takes off. So, like you I’m a little unsettled if he gets drilled…he means too much to this O! GBO!

Entered the portal after July 1st - really doubt this guy plays this year.
Could we use another RB? Most definitely.

RB and LB are going to be downfall this year, especially late once guys start getting banged up.

Not sure but I don’t think he would be eligible for this season.

Milton has not proven himself as a runner. Or a passer for that matter. JG burned me too deep to believe until I see it on the field. For some people practice does not make perfect. I hope Milton proves me wrong, but I hope more that we won’t need him except as a decoy.

There was a time when we asked quarterbacks to try to avoid taking a hard hit. Guess times have changed. At least in Milton's case.
