The saying is that the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
I think that with the action of both Currie and Davenport since Sunday we can for the most part safely say that they are the fans enemy in this coaching search.
With that being said, it appears that Kiffin is being treated as an enemy by them and therefore should be considered the fan bases friend.
I understand that people are still ticked about his leaving the way that he did, but it was his dream job and all and I never thought that I would entertain the thought of his return, but at this point he is the best coach willing to take the job.
I heard on Sports Talk yesterday a guy who runs a subscription sport site (Landry Report something or other) and he said that the biggest selling point on Doeren for the Tennessee job is that he would take it.
This Doeren guy appears to be Butch 2.0 and if he is the target it does not look good.
My understanding is that if you go to the NC State message board they would be thrilled if Tennessee took this guy off their hands.
Now the OK State message board on the other hand did not want to lose Gundy.
This is all very telling in of itself and we need to at least go out and get the best coach that we can and it is not Doeren, it is Kiffin as distasteful as some would find it
