All this talk about recruiting classes and injuries is seriously detracting from the positives going on in the program right now. There are some really good young players that are going to be names every UT fan will know by heart 10 years from now on campus. Dooley has done a FANTASTIC job of bringing in players that fill a serious need on the team and who show a ton of promise outside of the lines of normal recruiting. The future is bright for Tennessee regardless of what you think Dooley's future may be.

And hell, football is right around the corner.

Its uncanny how much Justin Hunter reminds me of AJ Green as a Freshman. exact same body type, just hope he has the same hands.

this young talent has me so amped up.
Eric Gordon, Brent Brewer, Da'Rick Rogers, Justin Hunter, Corey Miller, Jacques Smith... Im ready

even Evander Wells has me intrigued

Good post. UT may have it rough the first half of this season, but should be much improved the last half. Not writing off this season, but this time next year we will have a ton of sophomores and juniors with lots of experience. Glass is half full my friends.

I prefer to be optimistic about this new coach, new team, and the upcoming year. I don't think I can sit down and watch a game with a defeatist attitude. It would probably counter the effects of my favorite adult beverage....:)

I was thinking about that yesterday as well. This year could be bumpy but UT should be returning at least 15 starters next year, maybe more depending on how some of the position battles fall out.

but this is going to be an ugly season. One thing we will get out of it, "can this group of coaches get the job done". By season's end we will know whether Dooley is La Tech or UT capable. There will be NO fence sitters when this season is done.

No we will not. Simply false. You could choose anyone to coach this team this year and they couldn't make them a 10 win team. I don't care if we had NICK SABAN, a coaching staff can only do so much.

Agreed. It would not matter who our coach was this year, with the attrition, depth problems and brutal schedule, it would be a tough season. One year will not tell us what we need to know. Dooley walked into a mess and one season will not tell us how good he is going to be.

Yes. It took Saban 2 years to turn it around, and most people considered that a miracle.

You know I am excited about this year because I know its a tough schedule and we will lose our share of games, but I can't wait to see what our defense scheme is going to look like, what our offensive scheme is going to look like. I can't wait to see us still in games that we are not suppose to have a chance to win and win them. I'm going to be watching for us to improve game after game, and finally, celebrate at the end of the season for having a winning record and going to a bowl game!! GBO!!!!!!!!!!! :dance2::pepper::yahoo:

Boy I can not believe I am defending Fiji here, but I think he is referring to how the coaching staff does with the players. Do they have mental mistakes, missed assignments and do we see improvement over the season. I do not believe he was talking about the W-L record.
