Gee, that looks a whole lot like the "America, Love It or Leave It" gibberish the W supporters liked to spew. There's a simple third option. Any sane Tennessee basketball fan became accustomed to it through multiple coaches. It's not complex. You accept the fact you have a bargain basement coach, laugh at the absurdity of the situation, show up at the games and root for miracles, then spend the offseason hoping the athletic director comes to his senses and rectifies the problem.

Who the coach is is indeed important, but I supported the Vols in 2005 and 2008, no reason to stop now!

Believing something positive about the coach doesn't make you a homer; being doubtful of some aspect of the hire doesn't make you a hater. Both can co-exist in the Tennessee fan family. For my sake, here are all the coaches & coordinators with a better resume than Dooley:

And just to add something to the conversation, I wasn't a big fan of the hire, but we didn't have a ton of options. MH couldn't point his finger and hire whomever we wanted. It isn't our God given right to have Stoops, Gruden, Patterson, or Muschamp just because we deemed them worthy. This guy has accepted one heck of a challenge. Try and support him as our coach until he gives you a legitimate reason to question him.

I'm a Tennessee Vol fan X 100,000. I cheer for the team not the coach. I will always back my team and the coach no matter who he is. Coaches come and go, as we figured out, but the VOlS will be forever. I just can't see me being anything else but a VOL, so I'm in and behind Double D all the way until someone else takes over. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO VOLS!!! :rock::rock::rock:

Practice a little optimism, DD knows what is on the line, I expect the SEC will get his best shot. Personally, im just gonna pop open a cold one and hope for the best. I'll cuss him when he screws up, and praise him like Jesus when he succeeds. but I ain't running to any ledges and jumping to the darkside/

Im cautiously optimistic DD will not be remembered as just that, a giant boob.

GO VOLS.

and Vol fans just let it be, everything has it's own strange way of working out.

Don't know what you got against HAT but he is one of the most true Vol Fans on this board. He speaks more truth than most. You never have to ask what he is thinking and he is straight forward in his opinion and can be very blunt. It is often call reality because what he says or his assessments are so accurate.

Is he 100% correct? NO

The only problem is that he thinks he is but of late he has been to admit when he is wrong.

I want the coach that we have Dooley. I will support him. 30 coaches with better resumes probably 25 turn downs and more money. There are HS coaches with better resumes than Dooley I am sure. But a Resume is not what you want in a coach it is just paper. Lets just coach ourself.

You cannot just put somebody out there in the situation that we are in and say recruit, coach, staff and win all in one breath. There is more to it than than that. Take the list build it to a 100 and 90 will turn it down. That would be more devastation. By the time we interview all these coaches and got no answers NSD is gone and we are in Spring Practice.

I want the coach that says I will take the job and I can do it with integrity and honesty. I know the SEC and I know the standards of the job here at this university. I know the tradition and I can get us there. I have the experience as a HC and AD and I can do it. I have ties to this school and I am loyal to it. I am my own person and I do not need my dad to make me a splash. I will bring honor and respect back to this school in football.

The difference in the 30 coaches with better resumes and CDD is that He knows he can do it, he accepted it, and knowing the situation he knows he can accomplish what is best for this program through his leadership.


Take it for what its worth but I know when I talk to hat there No BS. Just a little be of arrogance and that is ok.

Its Time!!!! Its Time we have a coach with a southern heritage. It doesnt hurt that it will sting Georgia Bulldogs if dooley is successful beatin up on em.
