Please VolNation let your voices be heard right now before it’s too late and we get a guy that NCState was about to fire.

These people are more qualified and would listen:
Miles
Kiffin
Steele
Tee
Norvell
Morris
Brohm, maybe with original deal and apology

I’m sure there are many more.

Just say NO to Doeren.

This administration seems to have no criteria in this coaching hire.

It seems like Currie/Haslam are just throwing darts at coaches on a wall..

Les Miles could be an OK bridge hire while we find someone who can actually do the job of an AD.

Mike Leach.

He went to a bowl game at TTU EVERY year, never had a losing season, that had never happened at Tech, and it hasn't happened since.

He'll go to his 3rd consecutive bowl game, no coach at WSU has done that, they are ranked, which they haven't been since 2003.

Don't like him...Kevin Sumlin? Dave Doren or Sumlin? I mean really.

This is absolutely the most bizarre search and we've had lots of weird ones...nothing like this. From the start to now, it makes absolutely zero sense.

I think Dave Doeren makes sense if you’re goal is to act out of spite before you’re forced out for good.

NC St fans don't like Doeren. They hope they dump him in Currie's lap. This just gets worse with Currie.

:clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping:I think your list has two people now worthy of consideration..Steele and Miles. Originally, Miles was not my choice because of his age...64. With the mess that Chancellor Davenport and AD Currie have created, Miles would be a good choice along with Kevin Steele. I knew nothing about Doren until I heard a radio talk show out of Nashville today. NCS would like us to take him off their hands too.

Who in the he$$ would want to come here?? Tee and Kiffin, huh? What lousy choices. No coach worth a grain of salt will want to touch this place for years to come.

Please please don’t blow up their coach. That’s just classless in my view. Yell at Currie and the Chancellor all you want. But the next random coach that falls into the crosshairs of our inept administration doesn’t deserve hate. It’s not their fault.

Absolutely! The pirate would have UT instantly credible and competitive. Why won't UT hire him? It's been reported because he sued Texas Tech for their bogus for cause firing, screwing him outta millions. Hey, Currie...just don't screw him over! But maybe Currie knows himself and that is asking too much...so sad!

The truth is, the state of Texas, a law is really what he was arguing, in order to challenge it he has to sue the school. His contention is that they owe him more money than they paid, they contend they have paid what they were contractually obligated to pay. Not unlike the suit Chavis had with LSU.

Disagree. That random coach will be here for 3 seasons and finalize the ruination of a once proud football program.

Curries should have fired "Botch" after the UGA beatdown.

He should have engaged others to assist in a real coaching search.

It now reminds me of someone buying a Christmas present on Christmas Eve. No thought put into any of it.

You should not be allowed to do that with something as important as the hiring of the next UT football coach.

You can throw out a lame gift. But being the UT football coach should mean something and you do not hire just anybody (and not a 33 - 30 guy at an average school) to be your next coach.

This.

You can't blame a guy for taking a job he is offered.

Be as angry as you want at the person/people who made the offer.

"Doeren, 45, is 33-30 in five seasons at NC State. This was his breakthrough year with the Wolfpack, leading them to an 8-4 record."

Well, if 8-4 is a "breakthrough", and in the weak ACC no less, then this is at best swapping one mediocre coach for another. And its worse than that since we would be paying millions (Butch's buyout) for the privilege of doing so.

I've resigned myself to the fact that whoever we get will not be an improvement upon what we had.
