and only 3 of them still have a chance to be SEC Champions and one of them is us. Is there a good chance?..nope but stranger things have happened...to me that shows improvement that we are at least competing for championships again.

Go Vols!
Buck Fama!

Unfortunately everyone's playing for 2nd place in the SEC these days....period!

OP makes a good point. Yes Bama is superior but what it Kirkland or Sutton make a difference to turn ball over alot and Hurts has his rookie game finally? Let's play it before we wave the white flag. Talent gaps can be made up with turnovers.

As a negavol, I agree. Lots of improvement since Butch got here.

There are still about 5 games that he's lost that I'm scratching my head at ('14 Fl, '15 Fl, '15 Ok, '15 Ark, '16 SC). But I am happy with the improvement. Hope it continues yearly. Getting to and at least competing in the SEC CG will be a step in the right direction.

Agreed. Clearly, LSU was a much better team than us in 2007 and won the National Championship. Auburn was a much better team than us in 2004 and they had torn us a new one in the regular season. We still gave those teams a great game in the SECCG and had a good chance to win at the end... Not completely comparable to this year but still... Vol fans should want rematch with Bama in Atlanta.

I can't believe that any Vol fans are rooting for Florida over LSU so Vols avoid Bama. The way I was raised you Duck no one. If you get smashed so be it. But if you win lifelong stories for players and fans alike.

Hurts had a freshman game against LSU. Doesn't mean he won't have another, but he definitely got one out of the way.

The problem UT would have in a rematch is stopping Bama's run game. Barring a miracle, the Vols no longer have the personnel to defend the run.

Maybe but I have a very sneaking feeling even if we play well, the SEC wouldn't let us upset Alabama. Look for the typical phantom calls/ no-calls. Same for UF if they somehow upset LSU. Alabama isn't losing before the playoffs.

I'm all in !

With Kam and Kelly in the back field + Dobbs' having saved 4 years of actual accuracy in his back pocket for Atlanta 2016 , I'm confident we can give Alabama a better game.

Gonna beat Mizz and Vandy first, of course.

You do know we forced him into 2 turnovers and they still beat us by 40? I'm not saying we don't have a chance but I hope we at least keep it within 2 scores because last game was a flat out embarrassment to the football program. I know we have had a ton of injuries and that's the bulk of the reason why we lost the other 2 games but there's no way a team should beat us by 40. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that game. Hopefully we put up a better showing with the title on the line.

Really?

Then I'm guessing I imagined #2, #3, and #4 losing last week?

Any given Saturday, anyone can be beat. If we get to Atlanta we'll have a chance to win the SEC championship. And that is all you can ask for. A chance.

No one can stop bamas run game because the refs are cool with Bama holding like crazy. Every big Hurts run has holding a blind person could see.

Yep, we'll have to beat Bama and the refs.

The way kiffin used Hurst is the way CBJ needs to use Dobbs.....legs! Read options, mis directions, reverse. Use the same goofy plan like we did against them in 2nd half and SC then we can't have a chance keeping up scoring. Cut Dobbs loose and run Kamara and Kelly to death!

A running QB helps, but you have to throw to beat Bama. There is no team that's going to run their way to a win.

It opens up pass. Run pass option as well. I could tell after the first half CBJ mailed it in just by the play calling.

I agree the odds are severely with good reason in Alabama's favor. But I'll never say No chance.

So tired of this Bama conspiracy crap. Refs don't need to collude for Bama to win games. No one is fixing games. Get off it

At this point we are already doomed to the citrus bowl or something lower. The 4th loss won't really change much. I'd rather take my shot at Bama and hope there's a bullet left in the chamber. At the very least we might seriously injured their players (fairly, of course) and ruin their championship hopes. At best we could stun them. Hell, Trump won, why can't we?

Truth. Bama is just good because they have a great coach and great players. They just got a commitment from their 3rd 5* OL of the next recruiting class.

What is our coach doing? Reading his damn chart and talking about resiliency.
