Theory + a couple of observations

Here’s a theory. Josiah Jordan James is not a good player...at all. He had no business being rated a 5 star, or even a 4 star for that matter.
I disagree. Hes at least a 4 star for his build and athletic ability. The problem with Barnes teams is we have all of these freak athletes (ie Pons) though they always play timid and scared. JJJ plays on a leash like everyone else on the team. Keon tried to play aggressive but in our offense any team in the country can clog the lanes limiting our driving ability when in the half court. Everything is just frustrating with this team, program, and athletic dept for that matter.

They got jammed up because they made poor decisions at times and turned it over too much. When teams are packing it in the offense EVERYONE runs is drive and kick. Drive and kick 3’s are a shooters dream but only Santiago and Springer shot above average. Barnes practically begs guys to shoot more and not pass up open looks. What offense would you run?
One that Works....We had all the puzzle pieces but did not have right offense to fit the players on the court...After watching a few more games in the NCAA Tournament we did not have the team energy either. Maybe Covid took a huge cut in health or the time to install a better offense.
But this offense had no identity and was a total mix bag....Jeckle and Hyde. It was really going to be Good or Really Bad....

One that works??? Well here’s a little FYI- No offense, not a single one, will work if players pass repeatedly pass up open shots and when they do take a shot are unable to knock them down on a consistent basis. We are running a hybrid of the San Antonio Spurs and Gonzaga offenses, which last I heard, are pretty dang good for the last 20 years
