If the product is made by sony or nike what difference does it make who you bought it from?

If it's the same manufacturer and same model then its the same product dumba$$. Whether you buy it from Costco or not.

Manufacturers routinely make the same models with different series numbers. They sell a cheap version to the discount retailer and a quality version to the higher end retailer. They count on the fact that the average consumer is too lazy, dumb and/or ignorant to do any research. They see a brand name like Sony & think all of them are the same.

Even if the models are identical, the discount store will usually screw the consumer on any additional components or accessories because no price checks smaller items.
